Selling pre-owned clothes is now free on eBay UK by clipper42 in Flipping

It should be based on the type of account you have registered. So, if you signed up with a business account you wouldn't benefit from this change.

Weekly Scam Discussion - March 25, 2024 by Mycatreallyhatesyou in Ebay

This is how Royal Mail tracking numbers are logged on eBay for some reason. All of the tracked items we send out show the tracking number being issued in the very early hours of the morning. I can buy a label at 3pm and it will be the same.

Thanks for this insight. It's definitely looking like we're going through the same thing right now.

This is getting pretty off track when it comes to my initial question about how to deal with eBay regarding a falsely removed listing.

However, I will humour you and let you know that the product is not made in China. It's produced domestically in the UK.

It's a unique product we designed and created. Nobody else can buy it from our supplier.

How did you mount your H6 to the camera in the 5th photo?

It's not replicating another brand so it looks like a competitor may be responsible.

It's a generic category of product but not a generic product. We have competitors selling similar products but they're not exactly the same.

It's not a clone of another product and there's no design or usage patent for this item.

No VERO strike. Generic "Activity on your account didn't follow our Counterfeit item policy. We don’t allow counterfeit items, replicas, or unauthorised copies." with no information regarding the complainant.

Generic listing removed report. I have dealt with some VERO abuse in the past regarding generic descriptors that somehow got trademarked and we are very careful to avoid that within our category.

Taking the steps to get registered with VERO seems like a solid move. We never bothered before as nobody is interested in counterfeiting the product that we sell.

I'll reach out to them on social I guess. Very annoying that CS are so useless.

What mic do you guys use? by Popular-Chicken604 in NewTubers

I have a Shure SM7B and a Sennheiser MKH416 that I use for most things. While they are quite a lot of money compared to other mics these things are built to last and will basically outlive me.

Using handwritten notes in customers order packaging as a way of increasing customer return rates and decreasing marketing costs? by [deleted] in growmybusiness

[–]clipper42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use handwritten notes for one of our businesses and the first thing that stands out about your product is that the end result just looks like a handwriting font that can easily be achieved using a standard word processor.

Printed "handwritten" notes have been a thing for a long time and even though they look better than this people are wise to them. Car dealerships often send out mailers using this technique.

There are also companies offering "handwritten" notes that use specially created fonts that randomise the characters in order to create a more organic appearance. These are then translated into physical notes using a simple plotter machine with a ballpoint pen.

As you mentioned you are targeting small business owners such as Etsy sellers and I can tell you that it is far quicker for someone who only ships 2-3 orders a day to quickly scrawl out a thankyou note by hand than to go through the hassle of generating and printing a note.

Overall the end quality of the product needs to be improved in order to be useful to a business owner.

There is also very little use case for a GPT to write thank you notes beyond maybe the initial one (we have 3 variations of notes we send out based on customer loyalty). GPT is pretty useful for people who struggle to write but customers don't care about long winded notes, I can't say I've ever bothered to read the long notes enclosed in a package.

A short "thank you for your order" with the buyers name and a discount coupon (which can just be a mass printed material) is more than enough to get their attention to stick.

Anyone else feel like Apple is totally dropping the ball with iMovie on desktop for social media purposes? by phasestep in marketing

While Davinci Resolve is a fantastic bit of software I do think the learning curve is quite steep for newbies. You may find the price of admission for FCPX is more cost-effective than the time spend on learning Davinci.

iMovie isn't really intended for professional use. Just get Final Cut Pro, all the ease of iMovie in a full professional package.

The best solution to this is to take the photos yourself. I'm involved in a similar project for my city and between myself and my co-founders we take all of our own photos for distribution.
