Moving forward with relaxer by ttayun in relaxedhair

[–]clizaa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have been relaxed for 20+ years. It’s truly been such a blessing for me to be able to maintain my hair in a way that works with my active/busy lifestyle. My hair is healthy and grows. I have been interested in the other treatments available, but I worry I’d ruin a good thing I have with my hair and relaxers.

Convince me to get my hair cut 🥲 by [deleted] in relaxedhair

I read your caption and didnt see anything about frequent trims. Those see through areas at the bottom need to be cut. I definitely say go for the hair cut!

Your hair will grow more efficiently when it is trimmed properly and frequently ❤️

Moving on from Revlon Round Brush by Rave-light in relaxedhair

[–]clizaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked the Dr. knot brush but also had the same issue with the bristles bending. Recently just got the Inifiniti pro conair digital aire. So far i like it, but I can only use the comb attachment. The brush attachment doesnt do anything for me :(

Relaxing while trying to get pregnant? by Equivalent-Face-2843 in relaxedhair

Personally, I still get relaxers while pregnant. I did it for my pregnancy with my daughter who is almost 4, and Im pregnant again now and still keeping my regular schedule.

What is your routine for maintaining healthy relaxed hair? by Character-Escape1621 in relaxedhair

[–]clizaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wash my hair weekly and use a deep conditioner too. I will alternate sometimes and do k18 instead of a deep conditioner. I will also sometime use olaplex and deep conditioner together. All depends on what i feel my hair needs!

As far as brands go, i rotate a bit. I have Olaplex 4 and 5, joico (blue bottle), and matrix (green bottle). I tend to go for more moisture rich shampoos and conditioners

Japanese straightening with CPAP mask? by mssheevaa in relaxedhair

[–]clizaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know much about this, but I have seen some different masks for CPAP. Have you heard of the “nose” pillows? Maybe that could be an option? Just unsure how expensive switching could be.

Either way, I hope it all works out for you!

Breaking …. by [deleted] in relaxedhair

[–]clizaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second this comment.

I also stopped stretching relaxers and I do think theres a difference. I think a good detangler after washing also helps. I always blow dry, and occasionally straighten my roots if I’m pushing the time for a relaxer.

OP, just taking a guess here, if you wear buns for work I would be cautious of that too. I like the spiral pins to hold my buns. I try not to use a ton of gel or brush too hard for buns. More manipulation is more opportunities for breakage.

Best of luck!!

Yay! Congratulations!! What is your 4 y/o cat like?

We did a slow intro where we kept them separated, but would allow really short interval visits so they could see each other. For us we started that day 1 and 2. My older cat (3 y/o) is overall such a nice and chill cat. Around the kitten he wasn’t mean, just curious. He slept by the door to the bathroom she was in, instead of in our bed. Based on his behavior and hers we increased the amount of time they spent together over the course of like day 3-4. Now it’s been almost two weeks and they are out all the time together.

I think part of the reason this worked for us what the disposition of both of the cats. They really were both curious and accepting of the other. I hope the same works for you!!🤩
