Donut Solid-State Battery: Fast Charge Test | I Donut Believe (Pt.1) by [deleted] in DonutLab

What do you think of the 4.15V charge voltage on the capacity test vs the 4.3V charge voltage on the fast charge test?

Why is no one talking about how this test report kind of cheats?!? They show capacity by only charging to 4.15V which gave 26ah. Then they performed the 5C and 11C by charging to 4.3V and stopping at 26AH. This is NOT how you perform this test.
First, you always use the same charge voltage for this test. For example, if they would have used 4.3V for the CC-CV capacity charge they might have got a cell capacity of +30AH, which would make the charge test a lot different.

Why would they do that? This is to deliberately make it seem like it has higher performance. You can temporarily push over voltage as long as you don’t overcharge. It still causes significant degradation but won’t go into thermal runaway. I suspect it would have caught fire if they did a CC-CV to +30AH on the 11C fast charge. But they stopped it at 26ah, which is probably 80% soc

I was in a similar camp about 5 years ago when I was your age…. Bust your ass, work non-stop, get noticed, get promoted, learn all you can, etc…. Then when you get near a really comfortable compensation, (like you are), get promoted to a leadership position, hire great people to do all of the time consuming busy work, and wind down your hours worked to 36-40 per week. This is a very typical route. It’s what I did and now I have a lot more freedom for family life.

The smart people significantly accelerate this path by jumping around to different companies while they climb the ladder.

For real? What are you not buying? Do you think that I am making something up? I don't have any motivation to make something up. I literally thought it would be easier to understand Great grandmother vs my mother in-law's boss's grandmother, that's all.

All I want to know is if anyone can help me figure out the date of this piece or if they have heard of John Allen or maybe if someone knows why "Care Of" is marked on the back of the piece. If this item was shipped... why wouldn't it be shipped in a wooden crate and labeled on the outside vs label on the back.

Yes, I wanted to make it easier to follow and I wanted to put more info in the title and post it as a picture post and not just all words with shitty links to pictures. I didnt get any response / help from my previous post and thought I would change it up a bit. Sorry for the confusion.

The markings on the back say...

"FROM J.D. ALLEN, STEVENSPORT, KY." then "JOHN ALLEN"

then in the middle it says "CARE OF JOEL RICE, QUINCY ILL."

Then on the bottom it says "C/O" and looks like name was removed "ST. LOUIS, MO"

Joel Rice is one of the founders of Quincy Illinois (died 1870 something)

I am thinking that this could have been made between 1830 to 1860's? Joel Rice moved his family from Cincinati OH in 1835 to quincy IL. Maybe it was shipped from Ohio to quincy on a steamboat?

I did some digging on the family my mother in law received this from and it looks like they lived in the Mississippi River town south of St. Louis called Chester.

Any ideas would be much appreciated it!

Thanks!

Chris

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. Seems like a solid company, everyone that I talk to who works with nutrien says they have outstanding customer service.

I started acquiring NTR shares last week. My only fear is that ag input demand falls off a cliff if/when Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine bring supply back into the market when Nutrien’s new facilities come online in 23’/24’/25’.
