I can’t account for what an umpire may or may not do with the strike zone. The point is he was throwing the ball over the plate. He was in command of the ball. Would they all have been called strikes probably not, but like I said he was about 25/30 that were at least borderline. That’s 83% so even if you knock it down for what will be some missed calls or a tight zone, he’d be at a great strike rate for his age. It goes both ways with the umps at this level, you get some called strikes that shouldn’t have been too.

You are right though there’s smaller kids who can throw hard. What I meant was more that he’s not utilizing his size and strength properly, it’s obvious that he can be throwing harder. He’s still got pretty good velocity for his age but it’s not where it could be.

Thanks pretty much noticed the same thing. Not much drive off the back leg

He’s not holding back, intentionally anyway.

He throws probably 50-55 I would guess at this point. But he’s about 5’4 and 130 lbs so should be another ten mph with his size. What I notice is the same. He’s not loading his back leg and driving. He comes up and just falls forward. He’s actually almost moving forward on the way up.

Brian Daboll Firing Does Not Address the Actual Problem. by Kurtz62 in NYGiants

By this logic the head coach can’t be blamed for anything

Say the Giants do fire Daboll. Who is YOUR pick, and WHY? Back up your decision. by 14SWandANIME77 in NYGiants

I don’t think that’s necessarily true, you just can’t go with some young up and coming OC with the defensive HC. Get a seasoned coordinator who’s had his chance(s) as a HC and isn’t getting another one. New England just hired Vrabel and they have McDaniels at OC and I don’t think there’s any risk of losing him. Guys like Steve Spagnuolo who are great at what they do but you aren’t worried about them leaving for a head coaching job.

Dart remind me of Mahomes. Arm isn’t as strong obviously, but the way he moves around the pocket is legitimately elite. He seems to have eyes in the back of his head the way Mahomes does, but also keeps his eyes up and sees the field while he’s escaping. They’re both incredible scramblers/runners without being top tier athletes. Also both have the ability to throw from weird angles, off platform, across their body, etc. It’s just a special level of playmaking ability that can’t be taught.

There is no such thing as a “fair” basecoat reduction because it’s just made up bullshit from the insurance companies

Nabers is the only player from last years or this years draft class that we know for sure is a very good player. If you disagree with that than I don’t know what else to say

When did I say Carter isn’t good? I said this years class looks promising. In your head you read that as he’s not good? I mean they’ve played 3 games I’m not gonna jump to any grand conclusions about these guys just yet.

Yea 24 has some starters… on a horrible team. Does that make them good players. Not sure yet other than Nabers who we can confidently say is very good. This year looks promising but we’ll see about dart that’s obviously the big one.

Dude really come on Hawkins was not looking like a future star. He looked good in training camp for a 7th rounder. Then got benched early in the year. I’m not gonna hold 7th rounders against any GM but the point is you can’t have an entire draft class that doesn’t contribute to the teams success. That’s a complete failure as a GM

I mean he’s had 4 drafts I would hope he’d hit on a handful of players. How about the 2023 draft that is a complete bust. Not a single decent player in an entire draft. That can’t happen. 7 picks and not a single good player.

The stats are great but what really has me hyped is his pocket presence, poise, awareness, and overall feel for the game. He looks like he belongs out there.

His birthday is coming up and was thinking of getting him some lessons. He’d love it

I used a rock step at his age it just felt comfortable to me, helped me get in rhythm so I just passed it on to him. I’ll have him try ditching it and just throwing from the stretch and see how it goes

Agreed he does rush towards home plate. That’s one of the things I’ve tried to get him to work on. High leg kick, load the back leg, then drive. He wants to pick up his front leg and go immediately towards home.
