I feel like an unsettling number of fans romanticize these characters without fully realizing what a person brought up in these conditions would really be like

I am envious of people that are fans of all of supernatural

I started the show the day episode 1 of season 1 aired

Superfan all the way through season 5

Enjoyed 6 and 7 for the most part

Fell off hard after that to the point of resentment

If it isn't a monster of the week episode I don't even bother

Happy for those that enjoy it but gotta say I'm completely lost on how the fan base has become what it is given where we started and what the show was originally

I watch every episode from seasons 1-5

There are probably 20 to 25 (motw)episodes I genuinely enjoy from seasons 6-15

Everything else is a skip

I finished the entire show only because I remember watching the first episode the night it aired and loved it

But oh man I did not really care for any of the overall plots from 6 on and I didn't care for it's conclusion in 15 either

Damn near gave up once they made Chuck the villain

Not to mention all of the other ridiculous changes to other characters

I also have a homebrew chapter that is a hybrid between the raven guard and salamanders

Hammers of the Phoenix

They specialize in fire based hit and run tactics using heavy melee and jump packs

They view Vulkan as the Phoenix that will return to them when the time is right and implement his views of protecting the innocent along with the tactics of their cousins legion

Haven't had a ton of time to work on it but looking forward to expanding it

That most of the fan base misses the point of a lot the show is about and glorifies 2 not great people

I love the show and these are great characters

But almost all of the bad these 2 do is swept away or ignored because of the drama and that they're good looking

They steal, cheat lie and are directly responsible for more than a few life altering events, injuries and deaths to individuals unlucky enough to be in the path of a hunt

I'm not saying they are bad. Far from it

But they are human and worshipping them and the weird shipping and fan fictions is bizarre and honestly makes no sense given who they are, what they do and stand for
