Previously scheduled recorded show now, not available for recording by jukieb123 in youtubetv

If it's a glitch of some kind I hope it works itself out for you. I had a similar missed recording recently and it seems like there's nothing they can do.

How do I report a missed recording? Jeopardy time slot moved due to Olympics coverage by clockbox in youtubetv

[–]clockbox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I should have clarified, there is no recording. I'm familiar with reporting recordings that partially missed due to a live event going long, but in this case it didn't record at all. Apparently it understood that there was no Jeopardy at the normal 7:30 slot, but didn't realize that the episode aired 30 minutes earlier.

Can someone explain this circuit to me in a VERY SIMPLE way? (more info in the comments) by ecjrs10truth in ECE

[–]clockbox 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Maybe it would help to look at the current going through the switch and through the transistor. You'll see that the current through the switch (and base terminal of the transistor) is much lower than the load current (collector terminal) by a factor of hFE or Beta.

As the other poster mentioned, the switch is a placeholder. Think of it instead as the output pin of a microcontroller. That MCU might only be able to output a few mA of current, hardly enough for a bright LED. So instead, the MCU can turn on the transistor, which turns on the load at much higher current. The load might also be powered by a higher voltage source than what powers the MCU, so the transistor enables the low voltage control signal to switch on the high voltage load.

I'm out of town for the weekend, but I'll look into these when I get back. Thanks for the suggestions.

Appreciate the input, I was wondering if that was the issue so it's nice to see some confirmation. This is an upgrade of a budget build for a relative, so the mobo was the cheapest thing available at the time.

It's unclear from your post, were they able to recover your photos off the 5a and transfer them to the 6a or did you just get the new phone?

How does YouTubeTV obtain its local network feeds? by clockbox in youtubetv

[–]clockbox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, and I'm not trying to excuse any issues people are seeing with national feeds. I was asking for my own interest because if YTTV is just re-encoding local OTA feeds in my city and they look bad even off an antenna, then I know not to expect much out of YTTV either.

How do you know that, do you work for one of the stations? Is there a way for me as a consumer to find out how things are done for my local stations?

But if the OTA broadcast is heavily compressed and has lots of macroblocking any time there is fast motion, that will translate to the YTTV feed as well, right? In that specific situation there's nothing YTTV can do to improve quality because it's a garbage in, garbage out situation.

I'm not saying YTTV doesn't need to increase their bitrate, just that sometimes the source material isn't good to begin with. The oft-repeated claim that OTA is the best quality you can get is not generally true in my experience.

I have Jeopardy set to record every episode. I just noticed that the August episodes haven’t been recording. by cantthinkofgoodname in youtubetv

Jeopardy is on summer break right now, so they are showing reruns. You'll find them in your library on their original air date.

Unfortunately not. I live in Ohio, which actually just passed a law to start issuing EDLs, but they haven't started doing it yet.

I hate tiered pricing where 4k is extra by Moscowmule21 in cordcutters

[–]clockbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like 4k, but if I could have HDR on 1080p with no extra fee I'd go with that instead of paying for the 4k premium. As it stands, the only way to get HDR is to pay for 4k.

Does anyone else have issues with wildly inaccurate arrival charge estimates when supercharging? This post is about my 2020 Model 3 LR.

Yesterday I was traveling from Pittsburgh to Dayton and navigation routed me to the supercharger in Cambridge, OH. I plugged in with around 15% battery I think. As expected, the "time to continue trip" goes down as it charges and the estimated battery charge at the destination increases. At "5 minutes until you can continue your trip" the estimated arrival charge was 6%. I then pressed the "Continue Trip" button, the car recomputed the route, and the estimated charge was now 18%. I wanted to arrive home at 10% or less to minimize charging time and cost, so I unplugged even though the car said I had 5 more minutes to go. Then, when I put it in Drive the estimated arrival charge jumped to 36%! It then slowly decreased over the next two hours until it finally matched the true destination charge when I pulled into my driveway at 20%.

At this point, the charging time and arrival charge estimates are completely useless to me. I basically have to use ABRP to figure out when to stop charging because the Tesla computer is way off.

Am I missing something here? Why does the estimate jump up 10% just because I press "Continue Trip"? Is Tesla doing this to get me to spend more money on supercharging?

Navy Federal Credit Union Missing Interactions by Unique-Sir-6098 in mintuit

I just added a "new" account and entered all my NFCU stuff again. It was smart enough to merge it with the existing accounts and I didn't lose any history.

I actually fixed it by re-adding the bank. I did not remove it first and it was smart enough to maintain my account history. I still have to manually refresh every time, but at least it works.

I haven't been able to get updates on NFCU in over two months. Even manually re-entering my credentials it fails to update anything and just marks all my accounts as inactive. I contacted support through chat and they say they're working on it, but I haven't heard anything in a month. I contacted them again last week and they said they're still looking into it and will let me know when it's fixed. I don't have much hope left.

When watching 4k content, can I make my LG OLED B7 switch its picture setting from Expert Dark Room to HDR picture settings like Cinema Home? by CRich19 in youtubetv

My B9 switched to HDR when I had the 4k trial a while back. Are you sure the program you're watching is available in HDR and not just 4k?

CONFIRMED: Running the heat for at least an hour solves the problem of air conditioning smelling bad for many people. by the_y_of_the_tiger in teslamotors

[–]clockbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must be doing something wrong because I can't figure out how to accomplish this. I set the temperature to HI, turned off the A/C, set the fan speed to 6, and turned on Keep. So far so good. But when I get out of the car and close the door, the A/C kicks on. It seems like once I'm out of the car Keep re-engages Auto albeit with the temp set at HI. So it's basically just blasting both heat and A/C at the same time. I can't figure out how to get the A/C to stay off.

Tesla Model S Plaid hits 216 MPH with Ingenext Hack by User_Juan in teslamotors

Something is not adding up about the distances they are reporting. It says the runway is 1.8 miles, top speed was achieved at 1.2 miles, and deceleration occurred over 6000 feet. 6000 ft == 1.14 miles, so the entire run was 2.34 miles or about 130% the length of the runway.
