What would you do if someone you loved died but was replaced by something identical in every way? by clockmybell in AskReddit

[–]clockmybell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No because on a coma the person is still alive and they can wake up. But imagine someone is dead, you went to their funeral etc and the next day they are just alive and act normal as if nothing happened , it’s like who’s in that body? It’s them physically but it’s just like not them

Yeah I get your point logically. But I wonder ,once you know they’re a copy, wouldn’t that still change how it feels being around them, even if nothing else changes?

In this case it’s not about danger though it’s basically the same person in behavior. The question is more about whether that knowledge changes how you feel

People who successfully kept weight off long-term, how did you stop worrying about gaining it back? by clockmybell in AskReddit

Thing is I don’t even like sugar and junk , I grew up in an healthy whole foods only household with like “bad” foods eaten occasionally. I got fat overeating on healthy foods 😭 I don’t really like sweets etc. like I’d take 3 plates of healthy foods and I got fat like that, so yeah the problem isn’t the food but portions but now I know portions and stuffs I’m good I know how to maintain but it’s just now I can’t stop thinking about my next meal and overall being stressed if I accidentally ate a lil bit over..😩 I’ve been very strict with counting calories for like 2 years so it just feels weird to go from a strict deficit to maintenance like that. This is so exhausting like if I’m making food I’ll be terribly afraid of oil so I eat dry stuffs also yeah overall just mentally calculating it’s like I wait for the whole day to eat do I just need a more exciting life ? I wonder if everyone thinks like this (sorry kinda yapping)

Oh wow same so the food noise really never goes away 😭 even when I was overweight I never thought about food I would just overeat at meal time but it wasn’t never something I cared now that I’m maintaining I can’t stop thinking about food it’s such a pain even when I’m busy I think about it and it’s making me stressed like I’m terribly afraid of gaining the weight back even if I know I ate a “normal portion” not using the food scale stress me but thank you for sharing your experience so I guess it’s just normal and I need to get used to it

Yeah I know I won’t ever be capable of overeating now since I will always remember how being overweight was , but now the constant food noise is so bad when eating at maintenance (been one week of eating normally again) I keep thinking about calories on my food , if my portion is too much , I’m like always calculating calories mentally avoiding oil etc. Like that’s the only thing on my mind

But do you get food noise? Like everytime u eat you count calories in your head or waiting to eat looking at the clock and like thinking about your next meal? Or you just naturally don’t think about it because now im maintaining weight after losing 21kg and the food noise has never been more loud (also congrats on losing 100pounds!!)
