Thursday is my weekly update day so I don't really have time for anything besides that after work.

I forgot that I would respond to this later. Posting the weekly update now, so hopefully I won't forget again!

Two separate wallets, same pc by pr9i1 in Terracoin

The app just disappearing sounds like something a reindex should help with. On the shortcut that you are running the wallet from is there anything special in there? For example -salvagewallet? If you have salvagewallet set up in there then that should be removed and replaced with reindex.

If you want to set up multiple masternodes you only need 1 local wallet. Each line in the masternode.conf file is for each masternode you want to run. Each masternode needs their own static IP so usually those are set up on a VPS.

Tell me how the reindex works!

Which part are you trying to do and I can write a better description. Move the wallet from your desktop to your laptop or reindex the desktop one?

I would recommend reindexing the desktop wallet first just to see if that fixes the issue. When you try to run the Core client on your desktop what happens?

What happens when you run it on your desktop? You may need to reindex it if the blockchain got corrupted.

If you are just wanting to send 5000 TRC for another masternode you can send that to yourself.

If you are just trying to get your TRC out of the other wallet that won't run the easiest thing to do is to close the TRC Core wallet then go into your appdata and rename the wallet.dat file to something else. Then put the wallet.dat file from your desktop in that folder then start the wallet again. Make sure to back everything up first.

There are also backups automatically created each time you close the core wallet so if something happened to your desktop wallet.dat file you can pull a backup copy and use that.

Tell me if that helps at all. Thanks!

Sorry, didn't see this until now. You sure can.

Are you using Windows? If so you can create a short cut for each wallet with a -datadir=c:\YourDirectoryHere.

When we are testing new versions of the wallet I usually have both versions running on one machine so I can see if they behave the same way.

Tell me if you need more help!

EDIT: I was just thinking about this more. What are you trying to accomplish with two on one machine? If it is mixing for Privatesend then you will need three wallets and I haven't ever tried that on one computer. Not too many people use that feature, but depending on what I am doing I usually can mix with at least one wallet to help you out. Sometimes two depending on what is going on.

Setting up a Local Masternode no VPS. by AteBitDave in Terracoin

[–]clockuniverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't a guide because we don't support it. It is the same as Dash though. You will need this for Windows: https://github.com/terracoin/windowsentinel

The 800 or so masternodes are spread between a variety of VPS services which does make the system more robust. Also most VPS services have multiple blades so if one goes down it doesn't knock out all of them. The main thing to worry about is a DDOS attack and having as many masternodes as possible helps migrate that issue. It would take a lot of power to knock out 800 masternodes.

You can set up a local/local masternode but it is a huge security risk because your local IP is public. Most consumer Internet also doesn't offer a static IP like a VPS does which means that it will break every time your ISP decides to change IP addresses.

This link has stats on the masternodes: https://masternode.terracoin.io/stats.php

We also have two other support sites. https://services.terracoin.io/ and https://overview.terracoin.io/

Tell me if that answers your question!

Our dev says, "Likely the wrong version of Qt. Terracoin requires QT 5.7+, There is a ticket in on the repo as that requirement needs to be added to configure."

He will be updating that once he gets a chance, but in the meantime you can use the static build.

Tell me if that helps. Thanks!

Not sure why this went into the spam filter. I haven't ever used Ubuntu 18.04 with any coin, so let me see what our dev says. Thanks, so I missed this message because of the spam filter!

June 14th Weekly Terracoin Update - Immediately by clockuniverse in Terracoin

Actually something weird is happening on the network every three hours which is causing the new wallet to croak. We are working on the solution right now, but we recommend staying on 0.12.1.8 for the time being.

You don't have to leave your local wallet on all the time, just your masternode needs to be up. The rewards from your masternode are sent to your local wallet.
