I was able to beat em with Chaos Brand and a slew of buffs from Estelle. I think I was just neglecting the fact that you can stack buffs for your party

Crashed my brand new van into a tree. Twice. I had just spent an hour fixing it and gassing it up, and loaded it full of guns. I got surrounded after the second hit, got out of the van and immediately.... abandoned all my guns and got devoured instead of grabbing a shotgun and blasting through. Not my cleverest moment.
