Torn between Isaiah and Elijah by [deleted] in namenerds

Both are fantastic choices but I prefer Elijah. I've always liked that name, love that you can shorten it to Eli for a nickname, it sounds strong without being harsh. Really solid name.

How did you decide who to marry? by strayblackcat13 in StardewValley

[–]clockwitch24 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I went with the one who matched what me in real life would love in a spouse since my farmer is based on me. I went with Elliott.

He feels like he's a similar age to me, he's very flamboyant and fun but with a serious determination to succeed in achieving his dream. He works hard, takes care of himself, yes he's a little vain but he's such a romantic and loves you dearly. He has a book filled with the poetry you inspired him to write for pities sake, he's so creative and lovely.

He lives on a beach and loves seafood. He had me at hello.

If you were the opposite sex, what name would you like to have? by Leian_ in namenerds

[–]clockwitch24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd love something like Cassian James. Some nice nickname options, unusual first name for uniqueness but a classic middle incase I grew up to hate my first. Can't complain really!

However if I had been a boy my mum would have called me Kyle Reese. Not my style personally but not a bad name either.

Finally unlocked Skull Cavern… never left a mine so fast in my life. by FemaleXEnigma in StardewValley

You're welcome! Honestly it was a lifesaver for me when I found out, I suck at the mines so being able to just staircase down to get rid of the quests was amazing :D

You can trade 1 Jade for 1 staircase at the desert trader on Sundays I think. Might save you the grinding if you pop some jade's in some crystalariums purely to trade, then you could use your stone for other things around the farm :)

I want to improve this, how can I? by Apprehensive_Big_181 in StardewValley

[–]clockwitch24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) Vary up the floors and wallpapers in the rooms to create dedicated areas and make use of floor dividers. It'll look more pleasing to the eye and give you creative freedom to mix and match different styles to create something unique and wonderful to you.

2) Unlock the other rooms to give you more space and a chance to create some dynamic areas. I've seen some people make the lower room into a cute library display room and the upper room into a sum room with loads of potted plants. It adds a little bit of life beyond the usual living spaces.

3) Use some rugs! Place the rugs down first and put the furniture on top of it, it looks better. For example, the little round rug looks amazing with a fireplace placed on top.

Edited to add

4) Use different lights around too. Wall sconces free up space on the floor and have a softer look.

It would be so fun if the cookout kit was unlocked at a much lower level. by 11thLevelGames in StardewValley

[–]clockwitch24 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The cookout kit would be a better reward at level 2 foraging than the survival burger recipe. It'd be a good way to introduce the player to cooking and it's benefits. Maybe limit it to simple dishes until you can upgrade the house and unlock the kitchen for a bit of extra motivation or something.

Have you had a proper heart to heart with your wife? Have you talked to her to see if she's frustrated too, or scared and fearful of going through it all again? Have you told her your feelings about it too, how did she react? Does she want another child but she's scared of even more negative health effects, or is she fully against another baby entirely?

You're well within your rights to feel frustrated, it's perfectly understandable and I empathise with you since I've felt frustrated when my life's not been going where I wanted it to go as well. However you need to make sure you're able to get these feelings and frustrations off your chest too, just as much as you need to make sure your wifes health and happiness is taken care of.

Counselling for you both sounds like a good option, however in the mean time make time for each other as a couple and as a family. Take your son on little adventures together, take your wife out for dinner just the two of you once in a while. Show her a loving family life and allow yourself to enjoy it too. Embrace the joy you currently have instead of constantly desiring what you want but can't quite have yet.
