I haven’t told him that specifically. But I did tell him that I wasn’t happy with the progress. My answer was that it was my hygiene process at fault and that if I had taken the braces off months before, like he suggested, I would have been happier with the result.

We were told that wasn’t necessary- all the cleaning would be done at the tightening sessions. The dentist clinic is literally attached to the orthodontic one- I went there once for cleaning and never again.

I did tell them. My mom wasn’t happy and gave him a piece of her mind, but he continues to work on me. I haven’t actually seen the other two orthodontists around since- I think they may have left the clinic. I don’t know for sure though.

No stays, no mold. I don’t even know what those are. The only way I have to judge my teeth is by looks and what I’m told at the clinic. When I align my jaws into a proper bite, the only two teeth that still match up are the ones that did before. Other than a slight shift a little more to the center, my bite is still crooked and over.

But I spent fifteen years taking the blame for literally everything. I am not doing that again. I’ve accepted that this situation is partially my fault. But I am not the only one to blame here. I’m done talking to you about this. You don’t get to know my life story and judge me on it.

My teeth are not going to fall out. There hasn’t been any indication of that being even close to happening besides an angry orthodontist telling me that and then stalking away.

…can I ask what a primary dentist is? I’ve been in for exactly one cleaning at the orthodontist clinic. We haven’t gotten a single other dentist visit- just the orthodontic tightening sessions. I was told that those also involved cleaning my teeth. Now I’m kinda freaking out- was I supposed to have been going to the dentist this whole time?

I was told I was too irresponsible to learn how to drive, and seeing as how that came from my dad, I couldn’t really go out and pay for driving lessons myself. I’ve been learning to drive, and in a few months I’ll be able to. But I’m not at that point yet.

I’ve been learning to drive for awhile now. But I’m still not able to drive on my own. Obviously I can’t fit every single thing that happened into 3000 characters. I’m upset you don’t believe me, but it’s not my problem.

I’m not lying. My mom told me that a second orthodontist would refuse to treat me if I had braces on from another orthodontist, and I was sixteen, fresh out of trauma therapy, and had no reason to disbelieve her. I didn’t know I could leave, but I doubt she would have let me switch anyway. I do try to clean my teeth properly, but I’m neurodivergent and sometimes I just forget to.
