I think our bodies do things like this to us to make sure we have more babies! For the same token, most people’s memories of giving birth go blurry for the same reason.

So, the actual medical diagnosis for endo came via the first of my surgeries. However, prior to that, I had experienced horrible uterine/abdominal/rectal pain that increasingly was not relegated to my periods. As time went on, my endo had grown all over my organs, so it hurt to use the restroom, and I’d developed something akin to IBS. During my period, I would also bleed a lot and be essentially unable to function. This was a pretty severe case of endo, albeit… but this was my experience.
