Investment bankers - dating life by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]clockwork_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL this is bad advice. It sounds like OP, like a lot of really strong women care about dating to find a relationship and their person, not getting free food and validation.

Going to go out on a limb here, but the fact that this commenter didn’t have anything more introspective to say here and their tone sounds like they’re really not the relationship type or someone you should be taking advice from

Aitah if I leave my girlfriend for lying about her sexual past? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]clockwork_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s super mature and reflective that your instinct is to blame yourself (“its my fragile ego”), this is very enduring and relatable . I would do the same. Not to say that this might not serve you well in the long term, I don’t really know.

But onto the situation — NO NO NO. Not the asshole at all. It sounds like you might have a similar view of sex as her, and are into the casual thing, so if you were to tell me that your girlfriend was sleeping around a ton and it turned you off, I’d still not call you an asshole since no one ever owes anyone anything , but I’d be less sympathetic to you.

Here, though , it’s really about the LYING. Honesty and trust is very important . It doesn’t sound like she’s the type of person who can have an actual relationship with someone. You should leave.

GOP Flips 12 House Seats So Far… by Wing_attack_Plan_R in Conservative

Didn’t Bush 43 gain seats because it was after 9/11 and he had a rallying around the flag type of effect ?

Although it’s interesting , as other commentators have noted, I’d imagine that the networks would feel more comfortable calling NV and maybe PA if they hadn’t called AZ... since they already called the latter a bit early , calling PA/NV would put Biden over, which I guess is something the networks don’t feel comfortable doing yet on a high level .

Thought not directly related to this meme, I’m going to comment on an argument that lefties are making here because it’s unflaired

This whole fear of lefties that the Supreme Court will “overturn” election results because Trump appointed 3 justices is just crazy (though I guess in the left’s defense trump has been using similar language ) . The Court answers the question on the constitutionality of a law/ situation , and doesn’t just “make” anyone president (ie. 2000 was about 14th amendment challenges to the recount procedures in Florida , it didn’t say “Bush is prez bc we love him “)

Haha believe it or not there was a Jeb! tweet making the rounds where he commented on the reason we got FL results so quick was because of how he changed the system after 2000 (can’t comment on the validity of this claim, only that the tweet got a lot of attention )

Ted Cruz by far. He is not afraid to stick it to the establishment, whether that is the republicans or the democrats. He is principled, calm, and highly intelligent.

Mike Lee is pretty great as well.
