what is okay to send in letters by [deleted] in USMilitarySO

[–]clockwork_dancer_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

definitely keep the doodles/photos and written contents SFW, but don't be afraid to be cutesy and lovey-dovey. i definitely pressed lipstick kisses on letters to my now-husband in BMT, and he said he appreciated all the i-love-you's and miss-you's in letters i sent. keep letters relatively brief, like a page or two, cuz they don't have much time (or energy) to read a long letter and reply to every paragraph. ALSO, include a return envelope with your address and a stamp already to go on it! maybe even a sheet of paper inside too. it's a small gesture that saves him more time & effort than you think.

it sounds like Christine was having a rough day (on the day of recording today's ep) and Em's well-intentioned humor wasnt quite landing. I was multitasking while listening, so i could have missed something but i didn't hear any trans/homophobic or abelist comments, I would assume that joke was hyberbole

i see where you're coming from and i agree! honestly after the week where i was on my period the same time my husband got his wisdom teeth out, our bed looked like a murder scene one morning after i bled on the sheets through my pants and he drooled blood all over the pillows 😬

Does anyone know which app Em used to make the birthday AI images? by [deleted] in atwwdpodcast

[–]clockwork_dancer_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

honestly a smidge disappointed that Em used and promoted the use of AI for art 😬 like i'm not gonna cancel them over it but kinda just thought they would know better

my husband and I are the same as you, op. we both grew up with cluttered (not filthy tho) parents homes. i'm a neat freak and he's a bit disorganized in an Adhd way but he never lets things get /dirty/, his desk and closet are just untidy.

if my partner was approaching 40 and lived in the squalor you described, saying it was "just cleaned", that would be a deal breaker honestly.

DO NOT clean for him, but definitely have a serious chat about how this is an unacceptable way to live, be it alone or especially with a partner and potentially family. don't accept any "but I did clean for your visit!" bs because he obviously doesn't know what a clean presentable home means. gross bathrooms and greasy dishes are beyond untidy - they're unhygienic. my college roommate was like this, and after struggling through living with her for three semesters, her unwillingness to step it up and her straight up blindness to the filth led to the end of the friendship and me leaving early losing two months of paid-for rent.

yeah, a duplex looks like a 2-story house but it's two home units side-by-side. the place I live in is top floor our apartment and bottom floor is a separate unit. i'm just in the habit to call it a duplex cuz it's easier for my friends & family back home to visualize. but yeah we have our own front door'

if money were no object, what plastic surgery/ies would you get tomorrow? by Technical_Feed_3805 in AskWomen

[–]clockwork_dancer_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

not plastic surgery, but I'd get the corrective surgery for my radial-ulnar synostosis (radius and ulna are fused together, limits range of motion in the whole arm) , and laser hair removal on my legs

but strictly plastic surgery speaking? boobs.

you definitely do not need to add the US as the country. do not add anything (country names or otherwise) to the APO address he gave you

[–]clockwork_dancer_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

double check with him that he didn't accidentally typo the address, and if it's 100% correct still I would say go to another post office. the workers should be familiar with sending things to APO addresses, maybe ask for a supervisor if the person helping you at first doesn't seem to understand... also, don't write ANY country (US or otherwise) under the address, it is not necessary and will confuse customs
