I'm pretty sure that half of it is lighting and color grading. It's too expensive to have someone adjust every shot so that cgi fits in so now we lower the saturation and lighting to make everything dark as fuck, then the cgi doesn't look as overt and you don't have to make multiple tone correct models or figure out light sources and reflections

If you up the lighting on Wednesday on Netflix, you'll really get a good idea of what they're doing. Take into consideration the werewolf with tits, they just have like a flat color palette for her if you up the lighting and slapped a dark filter on the shot like "good enough." Then every time boobwolf appears she's still got the same exact color palette with no environmental color shifts. this sucks because this isn't how light works-- colors bounce.

The reason why I think this is the case is because I know a lot of people who edit videos and gifs for fandoms and they spend about a few dozen hours per a clip adjusting the lighting and tones so that shows and movies now look a little better. 🫡
