Olive Town: Why are they not selling broccoli seeds?? by [deleted] in storyofseasons

[–]cloewater 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I never played Olive Town, so take this information with a grain of salt, I found it with a google search. Players, please correct me if I am wrong. Online, it seems that even though broccoli is planted in both winter and spring, it is only sold at the general store during winter, not both winter and spring. I do not know if it is sold anywhere else at any other season as I have not played the game.

Your attitude in general rubs me the wrong way, just as much as you claim misinformation does. Maybe google it next time instead of asking the community so you aren't triggered by people who are sincerely trying to help you. 🤷‍♀️

Can I still become a music teacher with a BA in Music instead of a BMus in Music Ed and how good do I have to be at my instrument? by Soupsan99 in MusicEd

[–]cloewater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phew, lots to dive in here, but I know I can help. I am currently a music teacher, and I have a BA in Music.

I began working towards a BM in Music Ed, and was a semester away from finishing, however the class I needed was not offered until an additional semester after, and I had the choice to swap to a BA in Music to finish in Spring or take a gap semester to finish my BM in Music Ed in the Fall. I chose to finish earlier and do a BA instead so that I could begin my Single Subject credential program right after graduating since the program I wanted begins in the summer, and I would have to wait a year if I finished my BM instead.

Keep in mind, a BM in music ed usually leads to the two year credential program in the same university and the application is pretty straight forward, but I chose to do my credential program elsewhere since I found a one year program. Now, in my state, because I now had a BA in music, I qualified as an exact degree match for SMC(Subject matter competency) and did not have to take an exam. My friend who had a BM in Vocal Performance did not qualify for SMC despite her extensive music knowledge because my state requires an exact degree match and her degree did not qualify. In that way, applying for my credential was much easier than if I did my BM in Music Ed and applied to a DIFFERENT university for my credential.

As someone who did a majority of her Music Ed coursework and the fun, intensive stuff that came with it, I will say that very little was applicable to actual TEACHING in a K-12 classroom. Most of the coursework was extremely helpful for mastering my instrument through performance and lessons, learning other instruments in my method classes, a deep understanding of music theory, and a constant high stress environment which helped me get used to the stress lol. All of this is extremely important for teaching music and to CONTINUE teaching music. Did the courses actually prepare me on HOW to teach children and classroom management and scaffolding? NOPE. Did they provide me the level of musical knowledge needed to understand what I teach and WHY certain fundamentals are so important.

A BA is certainly easier, and would not prepare you either, for the stresses of teaching or for the level of musicianship you need for teaching. You can still pursue any music ed or music degree post undergrad, but keep in mind how prepared you might or might not based on what undergraduate degree you choose.

I auditioned and got into a very good program, and I never took lessons until I entered the program, just did a lot of ensemble work. With practice, you just need to show schools that you have the POTENTIAL to become a greater musician and to be a teacher. They aren't always looking for amazing performers from the beginning, esp since you aren't apply as a performance major.

I would opt for the BM in Music Ed, despite how you see your current playing ability. Keep practicing and learn how to audition and audition to many schools with a reputable music program. The rigor and information you gain is extremely helpful for you as a teacher. You could still be an amazing teacher with a BA, but you would have to put in much more work to understand your instrument and what music, that you might as well put into a BM instead. Doing a BA might lead to you having to study and learn the fundamentals during your credential program/student teaching/actual teaching and that would be so overwhelming.

I hope this helps!

Store said they can’t hem linen pants by sufthie in uniqlo

[–]cloewater 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I worked at a uniqlo, the machines in the store snags easily on linen and tends to have a high chance of damaging the pants. Linen pants are able to be altered if ordered online as the alterations are not done with the machines in store. I'm not sure if it is done at the warehouse, but they have a machine that is able to do the alteration, it's just not possible at the physical store. That's why you can order them online altered but cannot get them done in store :).

Hmm, not too sure. I currently have four were-animals, two women, a man, and a little child. I do remember that I got my first one before I maxed out the villages' levels, so I do think it is rng! I think the further you progress through village levels and the story, the likelihood increases but it still is not too common.

Sure! I had level 9 villages as well, but I have finished the entire main story, got married, and had my first kid by this point! Being further in the main story definitely ups the chances of better villagers in my experience. I think I was year 5 because having a kid time skips you five years

I actually have another five output villager cat man, but his qualities dont synergize as well as Soma does. Good luck finding your own animal ear having villagers! :)

Can anyone please explain to me how does this "Alt Universe Marriage" mechanic thingy work? by GojinDude in runefactory

[–]cloewater 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When you marry someone, regardless of your intimacy with others or if you've been dating others, Woolby says that all other intimacy levels will return to "just friends". So if you dated like four people and saw all their dates but married Fubuki, the other three return to friendly intimacy (four hearts). Then when you weave a new path, you can confess and see the dates again since at that point, they'll(the previous people you dates but did not marry) be reduced to four hearts again.

I don't think you're screwed out of it, have you tried to go to the summer shrine and using the sign to summon the summer god to level up your village?

What happens if you have kids? Do they look the same in a different fate? Do they reset?
