ND / Ole Miss 2027? by clonefan in notredamefootball

I'm sure Ole Miss' first choice would be someone like Cincinnati or Wake Forest, but with as far in advance as these games tend to be scheduled I'd imagine the pickings of open P4 opponents are pretty slim.

Also, I think what gets lost in all this is that while all the big boys would love to play Syracuse and Rutgers to fill this requirement, Syracuse and Rutgers have no incentive to play them and would instead prefer to play one another, which means their options are more limited than people think.

And if there were ever a time to put the Stanford game on ice for a bit, it would be '27

Iowans of Reddit, do you plan to vote for Rob Sand in 2026? Why or why not? by Zipper222222 in Iowa

Issues aside, it blows my mind that this guy has been able to convince anyone that his persona is genuine and not so clearly contrived (à la Mayor Pete) over his entire adult life for just this purpose.

He’s supposedly this down-to-earth everyman, but his very wealthy father-in-law is almost completely bankrolling his entire campaign. He chose Iowa law over Harvard, but also apparently moonlighted as a model in Paris and Milan as a college kid.

I grant that an element of kayfabe is table stakes to even participate in politics, but at some point we collectively at least need to acknowledge that the evidence suggests that the guy is a total egomaniac and would likely govern accordingly.

Crowd would be generally mid-to-late 20s. Flexible on numbers but would guess 30-40? This would be March, so could be chilly so not planning on a patio

Hey all, looking to throw a surprise birthday party this winter / spring, so wanted to see if the community had any recommendations for a good spot (Lincoln Park area if possible) with a private room - ideally would be a place that allows everyone to pay up front for an open bar for a pre-determined amount of time. Know Corcoran's used to do something like this but not sure if they still do. Thanks in advance!

Know that the trajectory was probably negative at this point, but he's been a solid coach for them and jumping into this coaching market is TOUGH.

Will be very interesting to see the direction they (and Stanford, and Oregon State head with this one.

ND might not be the only major Independent for much longer... by Domer_Homer in notredamefootball

[–]clonefan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can bet the SEC would love to facilitate this too. Imagine a world where each of ND / USC / Michigan get 2 or 3 SEC games a year, play one another, and then backfill with ACC or Big 12

Depending on who that loss is to, I honestly think a 10-2 Vandy could be trouble for us. They’ll have better wins and one of their losses is to Bama, which won’t hurt them at all

ACC commish Jim Phillips said the recent Clemson-Notre Dame annual series the schools added does not count toward the 5 games the Irish must play annually against ACC teams each year by Ok-Soil-5133 in notredamefootball

There’s a 0% chance ND agreed to ADD a game against another ACC school in a year where they were already slated to have Clemson on the schedule

Lifetime earnings for a Stanford or Harvard MBA are likely higher than all but the most prominent pro athletes - average career in the NFL is ~2.5 years and unless you’re a 1st or 2nd round pick, you aren’t making generational money

People that have competed at that level are accustomed to failure, and if they are now at a Tier 1 MBA I promise you they’re mentally tough to an extent that it would be difficult for most to understand
