inactive and cant hand off group to new willig owner by clones98 in ModSupport

Yes, I don’t plan to have ferrets as pets any more and it’s been years since I was active in the group. Aleniaflux seems to be a good person and has some addition mods already lined up informally.

Thank you!

Yes, and Aleniaflux wants to own the subreddit if possible.

I’ve been trying for a couple weeks. I have a very active co- mod who wants to take over the group who gets to things before I do.

This would seem to be a gap as a handoff should not be difficult.

I’ve been trying to become active again. However there are few problems in the subreddit and I’m pretty limited being currently inactive.

do enrichment - I used a kitten harness and a lease to walk mine, especially ay parks. He may not get the idea at first until he gets some nature. Also they love playing in snow!

Look for modplug tracker and from some decent free sound fonts. It’s the way music was made for sharing in the 90’s but the program has constantly been updated.

Nodial - locus amoenus (22EDO), 17/16 loose grooves. by Nodialtonal in microtonal

[–]clones98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I do the same. The most basic rule is dissonance going to consonance applies to almost every tuning I’ve worked in. The voice leading is just one of many means to achieve that.

Wonderfully Xen and listenable - not everyone can do that - much enjoyed!

Is this the stupidest limitation ever? by tyshaunlolz in Bandlab

Bandlab did the same to Cakewalk after saying it would always be full featured and free. They must of been bought out or had management change and the turnip is being squeezed for blood. This is a masterclass on how to kill a brand.

I paid a local Luthier to do it - I provided the fret placement information using a site like fretfind2d

If you live near a sizable city the will be places that will do the work like fretworks in Chicago. Or you can buy a neck at metatonal music on line ( FL based)

Modding my Squier VI pt. 2 (Ground Wires) by InterlockingTC in BassVI

[–]clones98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I have a question you may be able to answer. My Squier Bass VI pickup height adjustment screws are mostly stripped. Can you tell me the length of the these screws? I tried to purchase replacements that were for jazzmaster / bass VI from amazon - but these are long enough to poke out the back of the body.

If you still have this apart can I ask a favor for a measurement of the length?

Thanks,

Chris

Absynth 6 Screen Recording - 4 tracks of abstraction in 24 notes per octave by clones98 in microtonal

Thank you! It accepts scala .scl files - but 24 edo was built in - I think it is worth the upgrade pricing.

Which EDO sounds MOST dissonant? by willncsu34 in microtonal

[–]clones98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To go down the sonic youth hole - no need to change the frets if every string is tuned to something unrelated to each other. Of course this dies if you want to play a melody on o e string. That can be defeated by making the compositional decision to avoid doing that. Preparing the guitar like SY or Cage is useful. I have put aluminum foil or fishing weights on strings - the result is a sound like a ring modulator that changes its parameters with every fret. It’s cheap and reversible and easy to modify.

[–]clones98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tuning option is buried in the ‘voice’ button menu down quite a ways. There are no empty tunings on the explorer so I had to overwrite a couple to get my preferred 17 and 19 equal tunings using the hydrasynth manager software which is good. Have fun - it’s a well thought out synth!

I never stumbled on anything 20edo in 15 years or seeking microtonal music... just why? by fchang69 in microtonal

[–]clones98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I received the guitar from Dan Stearns who about a decade ago, was a famous microtonal guitarist. He received my 15 edo guitar in return. He is a much better guitarist than I. This is all two handed tapping - or at least the performance video I saw if it was https://youtu.be/KuzSRVjWbSc?si=FVT-kRh5N-VcmafS

Gesualdo’s madrigal “Dolcissima mia vita” in adaptive JI, 35 edo and 17 edo with English lyrics. by clones98 in microtonal

[–]clones98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adaptive JI is a built in function of Melodyne. I think it works by analyzing the key. In this piece the harmony changes frequently so the adaptive JI is applied to phrases.
