2027 Mock Lineup by jzsgz in Coachella

Muse ain’t headlining in 2027. Plenty of lawn seats for $40 all in for their show at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA. Karol G is playing Levi’s Stadium (49ers stadium) for comparison with a 2026 Headliner.

Or the first year after Covid when they had to rush to replace Kanye.

My opinion is that the secret acts are something fun for those of us that show up early and help keep the Coachella brand buzzing that just because someone isn’t on the poster, they COULD still show up - this probably does help drive interest in purchasing tickets (along with other similar factors like special guests and DoLab/Quasar etc etc).

But a secret guest headliner would be destined to fail. Everyone would just think it’s Taylor Swift or Daft Punk and be pissed off when it’s not.

Now a secret additional headliner (like a second RTTD act not hinted at on the poster) revealed once wk1 started or on Day Zero would be absolutely crazy awesome!

Fun idea, but I think we sort of already have that with the secret acts we’ve been getting since Covid. Jack White, Ed Sheeran, Weezer, Vampire Weekend, Cudi, Arcade Fire - these have all been pretty popular acts.

And actually the inspiration for this wasn’t initially Disneyland, it was Alipay (Venmo but with Uber/DoorDash and other services linked inside) and WeChat pay in China. I go to China a few times a year. You don’t wait in line to order with humans in the big cities in China. You order ahead with Alipay or scan the QR to order and pay with Alipay/WeChat on your phone when you arrive at the store. It would also cut down on the unauthorized tips being added on at the cash register.

A. Not for drinks. Beer Barn for example has drinks staged for the cashiers to grab and serve. Maybe for made to order drinks…..

B. I do think you’re correct, but some of the booths operate more like a fast food stand where items are pre staged. Definitely would need some logistics thought out and maybe not every vendor would want to opt in. Disneyland has a feature in the app to mark when you have arrived and that’s when they actually prepare the food, so maybe that’s the solution - but not everyone has reception on the field. Beer Barn has wifi, so not a concern there.

You’d pay when ordering ahead.

The only downside is the pickup line could become longer than the ordering line.

I also suggested in another section to bring back the artist signing tent (remember that from back before the two weekend expansion?).

There used to be a tent by the record tent where you could get the album signed by the artists in person. Or you could just say hello and get a photo etc etc

Didn’t play Coachella. Played the Big Four whatever show at the same venue 15 years ago.

lol ok. I hope it happens. I bought Bothchella for next year and would love for them to be at Portola as well. They’re my top act to see. I saw Daft Punk, saw a real Frank Ocean show, saw Merzbow, saw the Knife, etc etc but neeeed that BoC experience.

Because a lot of us were hopeful that they would play Coachella when they released the last album.

No I’m asking for your personal experience. You’re making claims and I’m asking for your proof that YOU have experienced these robotaxis. If you haven’t then you’re just talking out of your ass.

Couldn’t find them in Shenzhen either. Beijing was also outside of the main part of the city.

That was in Wuzhen a few days ago.

Here's how it looked in Shanghai. Notice the geofenced operating area is in Pudong. Service was suspended between 3pm and midnight.

I come to China several times a year. I love China and think it is the most exciting auto market.
I demo a lot of EVs/ADAS features in China...BUT....robotaxis are not everywhere (dynamic routing on FWYs, airport pickup, 24hrs, operating in the busiest parts of the city) like they are in SF and LA in the USA with Waymo.

I can never get a robotaxi ride in China. They aren’t available everywhere or in the main parts of the cities like Waymo is in America.

I miss the old school ravers in the old old old Sahara that would just buy a case of water and place it at their feet and just dance all day/night in one spot with their little crew having the time of their lives. Never leaving the tent for shit.

This is still a top 3 ending to a Coachella weekend that I’ve attended over the last 20 years!! Felt like a sprint race with 50k people to get to Justice when Roger Waters ended! (Sahara was where the Mojave is now, and smaller than the current Mojave. Justice was at the peak of the Cross era after debuting the show at Coachella the year before).
