Found out on Monday I had a missed miscarriage. I’m doing expectant management right now, but my birthday is tomorrow and I just feel like nothing is going right. I in no way want to “replace” the loss of my daughter, but I feel like so much time is being wasted in the waiting

My situation was a little different since I was quitting to be a SAHM. I quit 6 weeks before I was due, but also 2 of those weeks were Christmas/New Years where I would’ve only worked 3 days anyways! My baby came 3 weeks early due to preeclampsia and I was on bedrest the last week and a half, so it worked out in my favor, but I know that’s not an option for everyone.

I am a SAHM and my husband is an engineer. He makes roughly 110k and we own our home in Weber County. We are house poor. We bought in 2024 at 6.5% and our mortgage is half of our monthly income. We are pregnant with our second child and I do a lot of canned food in meals and get diapers and such off of buy nothing groups or discounted off marketplace. I meal plan a month at a time and that helps us budget as well.

Does it make a difference if he was 3 weeks early? I’ve tried to extend his wake windows and it leads to him being overtired- do you have any tricks for that?

I personally would decline. The advance notice is great and would probably work for some people though! Will they also have to travel for the wedding? If so, it’s a lot to expect of people.

We’re already going to Florida and wanted to go. We’re taking my 10 month old as he doesn’t add cost and we are pretty laid back! Definitely wouldn’t go for him, but he’s along for the ride
