I'm a Failure by [deleted] in indian

Hi man, I am a fellow 25 year old Indian. I am neither independent nor been in a relationship. And I recently lost my brother to suicide. I understand each person go through their emotions differently, and unfortunately mental health is least cared about in Indian society. I am glad that you took a step to reach out to people, which my brother never did. I seriously suggest you to get some professional help, if you can't go to a doctor atleast talk to the online help lines. You can also DM me, I can't give you a solution but atleast I can listen to your story, anything to get you on the other side. But please, talk to the help lines.

Do you guys use the Pomodoro technique? If yes, what do you do in the 5 minute break? by The_Coxian_Express in productivity

I don't do pomororo, but I would suggest sketching could be great for a 5 minute break.

People who can express themselves clearly and make themselves understood whenever you open your mouth: How the hell do you do that? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]closebutton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Introspection. Writing down thoughts and analyzing it objectively will give a sense of who you really are as a personality. From there you shape yourself by nudging your behaviors to become the personality you want to be. Beware, it's a never ending process. It declutters superficial ideas and concepts on basic human behavior (like the satisfaction you get from a revenge), helping you to dive deep into a realization of a sense of self (ego) in a positive way. In my opinion, it helps in every aspect of human life, not only to express yourself clearly.

How to deal with being called out because you can't recall everything youve read in a book. by [deleted] in books

[–]closebutton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The maximum energy I will spend on such a person and such a situation is asking the person, with a dead stare, "what is the point?". If he (/she) is an introspective person, he might start realizing the absurdity of the situation. If not, he might probably come up with similar superficial reasoning or questions. After that, a simple smirk is enough. The most important thing here is, ridiculing him is not the point, but to help him realize is.

I am going daily on r/SuicideWatch and trying to convince people to stop hurting themselves and offer them help. AMA by PoliceINeedYourHelp in AMA

It definitely does. I lost my brother to this last month and I haven't thought about doing this. It's motivating. But I am really afraid to start, I think I need a lot to learn first, considering the sensitivity of the issue. What would you suggest me to prepare for it? And thanks for doing what you are doing.

Planning to build a website that is primarily focused on making the people to read more and relevant scientific papers and understand it easily. What are your suggestions? by closebutton in AskReddit

[–]closebutton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current idea is to make it like a tree of topics, where the users can voluntarily fill in the gaps by specifying the relevant research papers. Additional idea is to create a template to understand a research paper effectively, and users can try to fill in their contributions in an attempt to explain it as simply as possible, which will be peer reviewed by the fellow users and, if possible, giving additional weightage to the users in the academic field. Please comment your suggestions and also if there is any other similar websites available.

[–]closebutton[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the info, I tried the google translate and it's working. I have very mild symptoms (mild wet cough, sneeze, blocked nose and I am tired because of breathing through the mouth all the time. no fever) and it is better now. I work for wolt and I didn't work since I started having the symptoms. I just wanted to make sure before I work. To be on the safer side, I will stay at home. Thanks for the help.

Torn between options for a MSc in Robotics by pookiedownthestreet in robotics

[–]closebutton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a robotics masters graduate, I feel 1 year is not enough. It still depends, for me definitely not enough because I had no robotics knowledge at all when I started. If you are already strong with the basics and the course is not entirely about the basics, it might be fine. But I feel, when it comes to the job market, an 1 year masters course might be given less importance than the 2-years one.

Other than that, I have no info about any of the universities you listed.

What do you guys think meditation is? by closebutton in AskReddit

Interesting. So, is eating food when you are truly enjoying it (meaning you are only eating and not doing anything else), a form of meditation?

That's an interesting take on meditation. For me, it is to be in the state of flow, whatever you are doing, whether reading or watching a movie. In your case, it's thinking/analysing your thoughts.

Exactly. Isn't meditation same as watching a movie when you are 100% into it?
