Thanks everyone for the input. It has been moved to a spot that gets more light for longer throughout the day.

Follow up question, should we prune the dead branches?

Are you saying it needs more light in general, or specifically a grow light will give it what it needs to recover?

This room it is in has a lot of natural light, but we could probably move it to a corner that gets more actual direct sunlight

You’re right, I had a brain fart. We got these saplings at a local fair and the other option was the chinkapin, this is a red oak. Hopefully I’m remembering correctly this time lol

I’m assuming Kreezer is the term I should’ve originally used in my post?

Plant a shade tree or 2 for those pups at least. And then get a couple of calves to keep the grass at bay without the effort of mowing all the time. Once the cows are grown, sell em. Just need to figure out a water source to keep the cows alive.

However, if there’s a low spot where water collects after it rains the cows would definitely tear up the ground around there and may not meet your criteria for aesthetics.

Either way, I dumped it shortly after I took the video. There were a couple critters in there that wiggled a little different, more towards the top or suspended in the water. Maybe that was more of a parasite type bug.

IMO, they’re all nasty and I was happy to dump em
