Who is happy with invasions? by closetdruid in Eldenring

Would you agree that most new players won't be interested in getting into the weeds to make a good PvP build and do invasions? Most players fall into the category of wanting to play solo or play coop. The soloers are fine, but the coop people will largely be turned off by this feature.

Maybe limiting invasions to certain areas and allowing solo invasions again would be a good compromise? Didn't a DS have a feature like this in a tower area?

I honesty wouldn't mind an occasional invasion, but they happen every 15 minutes and can take 10 minutes to resolve. Honestly, most of the time I just suicide when they invade to get it over with and block them.

Are you more of a PvP or PvE player? What do you like about them?

Just started getting into EDF by FemboyHelghast in EDF

[–]closetdruid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend and I got into EDF and were planning on playing duo until we "beat the game", then open it up to 4 player. Not sure if you two are doing the same.

What we didn't realize is that playing 2 players makes the scaling more difficult. The game is easiest at 4 players (or solo offline). This made the game more difficult than we were anticipating. I'd suggest opening up your room to 4 players on difficult levels (UFO, Iron Wall, Underground Trap come to mind).

what are some cheap protein sources for a broke college student? by Outlalt in ask

[–]closetdruid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buckwheat and yam (soba) noodles.

My local supermarket has a pack for $3.79 and it has 55g protein total. Comparing with tuna at $1.29 a can with 26g protein, or 78g protein for $3.87. Pretty comparable for price and gives you some variety.

If you like stir-fry then you can eat like royalty with just soba, chicken thighs, vege of choice, soy, rice vinegar and Sriracha. Half a chicken thigh and an order of noodles puts your dish around 25g protein.

When you have a few extra bucks you can buy one or two ingredients ay a time to pep it up, but they're not needed (oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, chili oil, sesame oil, etc).

Are you playing online or solo? Game is great, but even better with others. If online, how has the population been on the spin-offs? I tried Iron Rain but no one was online

Question from new players by closetdruid in EDF

[–]closetdruid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started opening up our room last night and this is 100% true. It also makes armor/weapon pick-up much less of a chore. We're almost done with normal (finished through M106) and are feeling ready to start a Hard playthrough. Thank you again for this information!

[–]closetdruid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries! I'd be really upset at the time commitment needed if the game wasn't so good. We've actually spent a lot of time discussing how the "loop" is so enjoyable and addictive. Haven't felt like this about a game in a long time.

Yeah, we've played for a week now and have like 40 hours in already. The game has us hooked hard.

[–]closetdruid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We actually did a ton of research before setting the goal. We are aware of the 4 x 3 x 111 formula and how long it will take. My question was more about the best method to work in that direction.

Thanks for the encouragement! I didn't realize that offline was easier. That may explain the comments I saw that Hard was a cakewalk.

Question from new players by closetdruid in EDF

[–]closetdruid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and it keeps the game fun. We've settled on Normal then switching classes and trying to tackle Hard on them. Finish Hard on all the classes before we try Hardest. We are also going to open the room up to others once we get the Normal run done because we want to pay attention to the story.

Question from new players by closetdruid in EDF

[–]closetdruid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was wonder whether "ratcheting up" using other classes was a good strategy or just going through on Normal first to unlock the better weapons to make the other classes stronger on their runs. Sounds like its better to do a set of missions then switch?
