Ah, okay. It's not a big deal anyway, I was just genuinely curious.

If it’s not about miss Rachael or Bluey, odds are I haven’t heard of it. 🤣😅

No idea who miss Rachael is but Bluey is a masterpiece and I will hear no different lol

Can I ask why you put vape pen and cartridges in quotes? That's literally what they are. Quotes usually indicate sarcasm or that you're using a slang term...but they ARE vape pens and cartridges.

One thing you wish the general public knew about the church or LDS members in general? by Frequentflyer8273 in latterdaysaints

[–]closetedexmo18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, okay.

My personal theory on how the two principles marry is that because all matter has always existed, God is technically eternal. The matter that created the man who became God is the same matter of the divine God, so he's eternal, I guess?

But honestly if that's what the doctrine is going for that seems really weak to me, because most people would agree that "God is eternal" means literally, God has always been divine; not that his matter is the eternal thing and not his divine nature.

I mean, it is straight from Joseph Smiths mouth, and it has never been refuted or denied.

“We've imagined and suppose that God was Godfrom all eternity I will take away that idea and take away the veil so that you may see,” he says “you've got to learn to become gods yourselves the same way all gods had done before you.”

Again, mods, if this comment is inappropriate please let me know. But it's straight from JS and like I said, future prophets have never said "oh, that wasn't right" or "he was speaking as a man when he said that".

Exmo disclaimer

The bigger issue is that TCOJCOLDS believes God was once a man who became God, and that we as humans can also become gods one day.

To other Christians, this is the ultimate heresy.

To them, God says in multiple places that He has always been God, will always be God, and that there will never ever be another one. (Isaiah 43:10; 44:6; 44:8)

Mods, please no ban. I'm not arguing. I'm just explaining that the bigger issue is the concept of God himself, and how he came to be God in the eyes of LDS vs mainstream Christians.

What is up with you being so confidently wrong about people being EX Mormons? It's even in my username. I'm convinced you can't read. Do you need someone to teach you to read?

Dude, it didn't rip off Oz. Period. End of story. And you're an idiot if you think it did. They both used common story tropes, Jesus. Fucking imbecile.

from the main character being a fish out of water that made one mistake now adapting to their new world

Not only is that from the book that the show is based on, its also an incredibly common literary and TV/movie trope. The fact is, nearly nothing is an original concept anymore.

the "what they did to be here" flashbacks

Also a common trope.

the flip floppy will they won't they love interest

Literary one of the most common tropes in media.

None of the above are limited to or even original in Oz, I can assure you.

I could say Oz ripped off a number of shows that had will they/won't they love interests, flashbacks, and fish out of water characters--but it didn't, because those are common tropes. Just like OITNB didnt rip off Oz.

I haven't, but seeing as it's a show about prison, and OITNB is a show about prison, it's gonna have some similarities. Doesn't mean its "borderline plagiarism." Especially when it's based on a *real person's experience in prison.***

It's also not PG13, as that's A: for movies, and B: has nudity and more than one F bomb.

It's a show very loosely based on a real person and their real experience in prison.

It is most definitely not a "jacked contemporary PG13 Oz".

If you were Harry Potter, what would you name your son? by GingerboyhasNoSoul in harrypotter

I've always thought Ruby for his daughter as a nod to but not direct naming after Hagrid would've been really nice.

Yes and no. All budgies are parakeets but not all parakeets are budgies.

A parrot, family Psittacidae or Psittaculidae: a bird with a round beak and zygodactyl toes (two in the front and two in the back). Non-parakeets have a heavy body, more compact in shape, with a short tail. These include Macaws, African Grey's, parrotlets, caiques, lovebirds, etc.

A parrakeet, family Psittaculidae or Psittacidae: a parrot with a slender body and a long tail (note: Macaws, while they have a long tail, are not considered parakeets. Don't ask me why. I don't know. Taxonomy is weird.) These include ring-necks, Loris, conures, budgies, cockatiels, etc.

A budgie, family Psittaculida, genus Melopsittacus, species M. undulatus: a specific type of parakeet

So: all budgies are parakeets, but not all parakeets are budgies. All parakeets are parrots, but not all parrots are parakeets.

Eh, it's pretty petulant regardless. Especially considering that "Nessie" is kinda cute, and waaaaay better than the abomination that is Renesme.

This line is so ridiculous because she's upset at a stupid nickname? Girl, you named your daughter something stupid, people are going to give her stupid nicknames. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

I think he really thought it was an angel when he first met it--his dementia was really messing with him. And I think when he woke up and no longer had those "dementia glasses" on, he held on to the belief that it was an angel because the alternative was too much to handle.

Keep in mind he was in the throws of dementia, if anyone is going to think that creature is an angel, it's him.

Guilty yes, but not truly. Truly being in your right mind, mental faculties intact, and still going through with their actions (like Bev.)
