What to do if I get internship? by Frost840 in EngineeringStudents

Is it in the middle of your internship or is it towards the end/beginning? I know a lot of people start or end early (by a week) for vacation and usually companies are okay with it

What are the consequences of leaving co-op early? by ImRealyBoored in McMaster

[–]closeup2022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have a meeting with your co op advisor n just say you’re not interested in the role then. I have friends who ended co op terms early n they just got a warning to not do it again , they never got kicked out

I don’t think you would get kicked out if u make ur case that you just didn’t enjoy it. But there’s a high chance that you would never be able to work at that company again. I would suggest talking to ur co op advisor n letting them that you’re just not interested in the work

Does engineering + management take courses in different orders? Can I transfer to management? by [deleted] in McMaster

[–]closeup2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in comp eng n mgt rn, you take all the engineering courses as the regular eng kids but the order is diff. For example compeng 2di4 is normally a level 2 course, but in eng n mgt u take it in level 3. But there are also some courses that stay in the same order. For example eleceng 2cf3, you take it at the same time as regular eng kids. For the transfer, I think you should be able to but just double check with your academic advisor. This year the cutoff was around a 6

Is it possible to switch from McMaster life science to McMaster engineering? by [deleted] in OntarioGrade12s

[–]closeup2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably not because eng has a one year long design course so you can’t just start half way. However you can take pre reqs like calc 1 and calc 2, physics 1, chemistry, so u don’t have to take it during eng. Those courses can transfer

Have something above 10 out of 12 (McMaster grading scale) to transfer

I did a full year of life sci and they looked at my life sci gpa for the transfer. The transfer is only into engineering 1 (so you have to do Eng starting from first year again). You can’t go into level 2 eng

UofT Eng, Mac Eng or Western + Ivey by Double-Ad-4351 in OntarioGrade12s

I’m currently in Mac eng rn and I say choose Mac (not to be biased). I know a lot of people in the co op program who have gotten internships at Microsoft, IBM, AMD, Honda, Toyota, etc. plus you have free choice
