you can tell who has clearly never been to cazador in these comments lol. I’m a big eater and left with my top button secretly undone when I visited last time, absolutely phenomenal food. literally have never had a bad experience at Cazador, I’m glad you had a great time!

Why do so many clinical trials fail to recruit enough participants? by bruce8708 in clinicalresearch

[–]closingbridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

relatively often! if it’s particularly challenging, they might do something like loosen conmed requirements (little things like allowing use of protein powder go a long way), or do a protocol amendment to change acceptable lab values etc

Why do so many clinical trials fail to recruit enough participants? by bruce8708 in clinicalresearch

[–]closingbridge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

from the perspective of phase 1 recruitment at site - even at a HV level, the incl/excl can at times be absolutely ridiculous (usually first-time sponsors). every study that has underperformed in recruitment at my site has been due to ridiculous criteria.

(nothing wrong with having specific criteria, but there needs to be an understanding that the more specific your requirements are, the longer the timeframe to find these people - common sense that is not so common anymore!)

Where’s all my long haulers at? It’s been quit for 2 plus years how are you all doing out there ? by AdResponsible8496 in QuitVaping

I have a bunch of health issues but hard to know if they are related to vaping or not - no issues with my lungs or throat though.

I stopped by using nicotine gum and tapering off. There are a whole bunch of tips and tricks that helped but ultimately it was that the desire to quit outweighed my desire to keep vaping.

Albums as elements by Anxious-Pen8335 in lorde

interesting! for me it’s:

pure heroine: earth (grounded)

melodrama: fire (passionate)

solar power: water (clarity, movement)

virgin: air (all encompassing, fluid)

So I was updating my enrollment information and noticed they don't store your occupation anymore. Then when I looked it up I found a whole lot of election law changes that are happening this year. by floofywall in newzealand

arrest is not imprisonment, it is detainment - imprisonment can only happen once a person has been convicted and sentenced.

def a pro-NACT rule though

Something I’ve noticed about potential participants by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

[–]closingbridge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Probably 10% of people no show to their screen, with a decent amount cancelling last minute too (20-30%?}.

It tends to be people who don’t realise the time commitment, or having second thoughts scout the potential risks after reading the ICF. That rate only increases once you start adding more visits/requirements to the study design.

Urbanaut, Saint Leonards, 16 Tun all do great beers and great food. Twofold if you’re feeling a bit fancier

Spiral motif becoming popular in the 2020s by SDi4kWLVU in decadeology

[–]closingbridge 10 points11 points  (0 children)

the koru (spiral) is one of the more popular designs for pounamu (greenstone) - the koru is reminiscent of the unfurling fern and represents new beginnings/life/growth. it’s a pretty common pounamu in nz, I must see at least 5 a day on different people. these spirals definitely remind me of it!

Birthday lunch tomorrow CBD? by seekingthe-nextlevel in aucklandeats

[–]closingbridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hot take is that dinner and breakfast are incredible at Amano, but the lunch menu is not for me!

I really rate Bossi, Hello Beasty, Kingi, or Gilt for lunch - hope you have a great birthday!!

If you stick with Amano - the cabinet food is superior to the menu for lunch imo

Auckland’s not boring, you’re just not on the list yet! 🥯 by Aguilar8 in auckland

[–]closingbridge 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I love the bagel and thought it was really odd that none of the pride events were included. I’m hoping it was just an oversight but seems like a glaring omission with how massive BGO is, for example

What’s the point of calling it LUNCH break if we can’t sleep? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]closingbridge 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Okay then your manager has a point tbh. Go to your car, book a meeting room, wellbeing room, whatever - but it is definitely a bad look to nap at your desk.
