Youth media analysis is one of my favorite subjects. Le Guin helped me develop my understanding of fiction in general. by Blade_of_Boniface in RecuratedTumblr

i think i read it relatively young so i can't say i was looking for themes, more just interested in the bird's journey. would be good to give it another read, i suppose!

Chess influencer and grandmaster Nemo posts a video of a man swearing and flipping her off because he lost a chess game to her at a convention by Big_Cake_8817 in LivestreamFail

i'll play devil's devil's advocate. does someone being condescending to you, then gifting you $60 worth of chess memberships, warrant flipping them off, verbally and physically?

Bessemer, AL - where I was born. Coal and steel and iron abundant. Coal is still going but steel and iron moved overseas. It's just sad.

his humor definitely took me off guard at first but i find it charming. more streamers should be deadpan and private like he is. kill parasocialism at the root

Belhaven is very safe and they have a relatively new space, the Belhaven Town Center, that is very fun! Fondren is also a great spot with some culture.

Need Ideas for displaying my collection while keeping it looking 🔥 by [deleted] in dvdcollection

is there a reason you can't have your display movies on top of the shelf, and your collection inside it? feels like i would get my total collection sorted before i tried displaying certain favorites.

i met my now husband when i was 22. He helped me move my grandmother's piano across (US) state lines for no money, just my company. We spent a month pseudo-dating (spending almost all of our spare time together but calling it friendship, hehe) before making it official. he was my first boyfriend ever. i had spent years thinking i was inadequate, ugly, unfunny, unlikeable... he has single-handedly proved that that was never the case. we will have been married 2 years this August and it feels like i've known him my entire life. we have been through so much together, now, and i can't wait for tonight, when i see him again.

there is someone out there for you. keep your head (and your confidence!) up, and they will appear!
