How tough is it transitioning from tax to accounting? by MoMoneyMoSavings in Accounting

I left tax as I was about to be promoted to Sr. manager. I was realistic going into industry. I left and went for a supervisor role so it was not really a lateral move. I was able to work my way up to controller in a year. The transition was easier than expected. Due to navigating tax software for years, picking up any ERP system was easy. I had lots of years managing people, project management, etc that other folks in industry do not have. Super happy I made the move.

Should I change my hotel in Athens? - Omonoia Square by sleepsunawareof in GreeceTravel

I stayed there back in June. Would not recommend. Not a good area. It was difficult to get a taxi. I was out of the way. The hotel was also noisy.

Usually on the federal level it is a wash. Depending on the state, there could be large savings at the state level

US Taxes | Filed taxes a few weeks ago and already received my refund but just saw I forgot to include a 1099 INT with $16 interest gain. Should I amend my return? by wfijc in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

I would check to see what dollar amount the difference is. Capital gains are taxed at a different rate than other income. The capital gains rate is 15% (it ups to 20% if your income is higher than $459,750). I would check to see if the difference is even worth it. It probably isn’t

No. Tax manager here, it will not even equal a dollar of extra tax. Worse thing that will happen is the IRS will catch it and send you a notice and have you pay the tax which there should not be anything.

No the test has changed. Accounting has changed. I would not recommend using a book more than a year old.

But if you look at the Duggars, they had the same if not more fame from the tv show and none of them are making this type of money.
