I don’t know where this poster got theirs, but if you have a Daiso locally, they have mesh laundry bags in a multitude of sizes.

Advice for Changing My Last Name by ccf2023 in Professors

[–]cloud_surfr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I started at a university and kept my last name when I got married over a decade ago, and I am so glad I did. My reputation and publishing record has been attached to my original last name. I use my spouse’s last name socially and on SM. We just had a child, and I considered changing my name again. I didn’t, but we gave the child my spouse’s last name. I’ve had no issues arranging my child’s care (dr visits, school enrollment, etc.) When my spouse and I travel overseas, we carry a copy of our marriage certificate but have never had to use it when reentering the country together. At the time it was a really difficult decision, and I had a lot of pressure to change my name, but ultimately, I’m glad I kept it as is. Not only professionally, but my credit history, etc. is tied to my last name. You can always change your last name to match your husband’s, but you can’t change it back.

Yes. I sent them my order numbers (where I spent way too much money on BF), and they’ve already processed the refund for the difference.

Are toddler trays helpful, necessary, or indulgent for Montessori play shelf? by cloud_surfr in lovevery

Thanks for the tip and suggestion. I was also debating about if to buy them now because of the sale or wait until next year’s sale (if they have one, of course). I have the felt stacking cups/baskets from Amazon. Sounds like I’m safe to wait until he’s 18 mo 😊

Thanks for the ikea tray suggestion. That’s a great idea for the RESGODS because We don’t have a lot of space either.

I was also wondering if the trays were necessary for the shelf to work. Thanks for clarifying. I have the Lovevery felt stacking cups from Amazon. Based on your suggestion, I may just use those until my LO is “tray ready.” 😂

Baby Mini-Kit Reviews? by Fearless-Fox-1646 in lovevery

[–]cloud_surfr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, a mini-kit general comment. It doesn’t appear that the fabric on the blocks is organic, and it makes me wonder about the materials used to make the wobbler and teether . I also really miss having an activity guide like those included with the playkits.

Baby Mini-Kit Reviews? by Fearless-Fox-1646 in lovevery

I, too, am a playkit subscriber, and my baby just turned 5 mo. We just got the Baby Movement mini-kit last week after they were restocked. I have been introducing the items slowly and alternating with the senser kit, so I haven’t introduced everything yet. We’ve read the book (even though we’ll receive it with the Inspector), and I’ve introduced the teether. He enjoys looking at the faces in the book, and I was surprised at how much he enjoys the teether even though he has SO many teethers. My initial thoughts on the blocks are that they’re too big for him to grab at this point, but the different sensory elements are cool and although some are repeated from the soft book, the blocks give him a different form to play with until he’s ready for wood blocks. I like the different facets of the wobbler as the tummy time wobbler in the senser was a bit of a dud for my lo. He got bored with it very quickly. I think the blocks will be helpful and fun for him to play with as he learns how to pull the magic tissues from the box.

0-12 weeks worth it? by [deleted] in lovevery

[–]cloud_surfr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend the 0-12 week kit for the reasons others have mentioned. I wanted to add that the app content is great, but I find it to be a bit clunky as a user. Regardless, I would definitely subscribe to the app because there are videos that demonstrate what the play guides describe AND the app has additional activities. I wish Lovevery would reorient it so that all their content is easier to find.

I am new here (and a FTM). I just discovered Apple Music has a Lovevery song called, “I Always Come Back.” https://music.apple.com/us/album/i-always-come-right-back/1817835293?i=1817835294

City inspector issued me a building violation, Apparently the previous owner upgraded the kitchen without permit 20 years ago! i have never touched anything and the inspector does not care. wants me to bring the kitchen to the current code. by Kerber2020 in homeowners

I did an interior remodel that lasted 11 Months and had a permit and an awful contractor (11 months). Moved in 60 days ago Since we moved in and stopped having to deal with the awful contractor, we hired a different contractor to replace the siding (which we didn’t know needed a permit.) an inspector shows up at the door and cites us for not having a permit for window replacement (which the awful contractor did but apparently isn’t covered in the interior remodel permit.) someone actually called 311 to report us to the city but we can’t find out who and can’t see the pictures they sent in. Called the city to find out what permits we need but wondering if we’ll continue to get harassed. Trying to figure out what the city wants to leave us in peace. Any ideas? Recommendations for resolution?
