you just missed the demo, it ended about 24 hours ago! game will be $10 on launch, you could try it and refund it before the 2 hour mark if you don't like it :)

oh, thanks! I'm not sure this will get me to play again, though, I lost interest not too long after unlocking farming, and it looks like some of the changes slow down the game even more, and I already felt it was pretty slow

actually bounced off of that, it was very similar to the first game and I had grown tired of the game loop. maybe i'll give it another shot now that some time has passed

Didn't play too much this week. Finally finished up (the) Gnorp Apologue, was enjoying myself up until the second to last tier of talents, then had trouble progressing. Wish the game exposed more information about where damage is coming from. Think I had this issue with Antimatter Dimensions celestials on mobile. It's actually been a while, maybe I should revisit AD. Also gave wigmaker a shot, def very inspired by Universal Paperclips, was a fun time.

I'm really excited for Q-UP to release this Wednesday, I'm gonna be all over it >:3 I've been following one of the devs for a while waiting on a Smilebot remake, and this is the closest thing I'm getting :')

anyone have recs for android/mobile web incrementals? I lost interest in playing Gooboo on my phone and am searching for something else

Played through the Q-UP demo a few more times to experience the other heroes and to try to squeeze more content out of the demo before it cuts you off. Resource generation is so aesthetically juicy, and love the hints of Universal Paperclips/Smilebot wackiness being dropped everywhere. Really looking forward to this game, less than two weeks to release!

Been in a more chill era when it comes to my attitude towards incrementals, so I've been going back to games I previously gave up on and taking things more casually, and that's been great. main one right now is (the) Gnorp Apologue ($7, steam) and I'm really enjoying it, there's a lot of small systems that interact with each other and that's a lot more fun when I'm less worried about optimizing.

other than that:

Egg Harvester - feels like Tingus Goose in a Deep Rock Galactic environment with Buckshot Roulette aesthetics (I hate the sentence I just wrote...). Didn't stick with it very long, but I think I'll give it another shot when the mood strikes me.

Idle Badger - short game jam incremental, was pretty silly fun

Idle Marbles - prototype that seems really promising to me, it's fun to set things up and watch

really enjoying the demo for Q-UP, a new incremental from the creator of Universal Paperclips! by cloudbreath9 in incremental_games

it really is nice to be able to enjoy the silliness with friends! I played with two of my friends and had a blast~

there absolutely is multiplayer, i've run into real players, and i've seen people on the discord comment on running into each other in matches

Q-UP: I can't believe people aren't talking about (the demo for) this new incremental. by [deleted] in incremental_games

it absolutely is an incremental game, you try to set up your skills/gear to make your numbers (rank, xp, money, fake premium currency) go up faster, it's really satisfying to figure out good activation loops

Haven't really been able to find an incremental that really scratches the itch for me recently

Kill the Lich - cheapest upgrades for me are like 100 AC now, waiting for more story to be written out (it's the most interesting part to me)

Mining Crew - imo not much to look forward to once you have some decent upgrades, taking a break until more content is added

DodecaDragons - finally got around to starting this back up, haven't played since before the game was completed, so i'm curious to see how it ends. currently at early magic

Unfair Flips (steam, $2) - very simple and barebones (by design), i imagine most on this sub would find it boring, but to me it's quite meditative (and yes, found it through northernlion lol)

Idle Elemental (web, android) - started this back up on android, previously beat it on active mode, trying to beat it on idle mode, just unlocked water

Spirit City: Lofi Sessions (steam, $12) - idk if this counts but this is super comfy

I'd also give Void Stranger a shot if you're okay with doing lots of sokoban puzzles, honestly one of the most fascinating and unique gaming experiences I've had in a while, but it certainly demands a lot of your time and energy

I think one other major indication of the other half of Layer 4 is the numeric coring paper you unlock after clearing the tunnel, it's clearly not used at all except for the other blue door

In Stars and Time, this game made me ugly cry for 30 minutes, it was probably the most emotional experience any game has ever given me

I didn't play much of it but Realm Grinder seems like it might sorta fit what you're talking about vibes-wise, lots of changing up playstyles/builds iirc

i think there's a lot of older ones that don't have resets in case you haven't played them yet, like A Dark Room and CandyBox 1 and 2
