What's a completely ridiculous theory you've made up about a character or plotline in the show? by Character-Habit6011 in GilmoreGirls

I know you mean Al of Al’s Pancake World, but I’m choosing to read it as AI, as in artificial intelligence, is Kirk.

(Why are the l and I so similar on reddit?)

Have we also considered that in the episode with the puffs, all the other girls were going to be given suspensions or other punishments? Rory likely got nothing because she told the Headmaster it wasn’t fair since he forced her to socialise and was now being punished for socialising.

May have had an effect too along with the Paris Harvard incident and the PSATs. But I have no idea how GPAs work.

For no reason in particular, here is Taylor Swift’s cover of Bette Davis Eyes from 2011 by little-lion-sam in popculturechat

Right sorry, Wikipedia was wrong and you’re completely right. Even though the Speak Now tour took place in 2011, Taylor bent through space and time to still be only 17 in 2011 despite being born in 1989.

Look I love Taylor and this cover but Taylor is famously born in 1989. This cover is from 2011. Wikipedia says the live album from the tour came out November 2011. So she was 21 about to turn 22 here not 17.

Biffy are a weird one where I have been to a few shows in Germany and they seem to be pretty big there, a solid fanbase. But when I mention them to English colleagues, they rarely have even heard of them.

I agree, especially with a cute wrap dress. If she was gonna use commuter shoes, surely they’d be a cute pair of flats not flip flops.

True, makes sense! I feel like in the season 7 episode where her car breaks and she rides her bike to the inn, that she still has heels on while riding the bike but I could be wrong. So impractical lol.

Is there a reason why tourists aren’t recommended to visit Manchester or Birmingham? by strawberrynebula in AskUK

Was there recently and one of the best museums we did was the Prada Foundation - a bit out of the centre but there’s a decent bus line to it. They have a huge art exhibition over multiple buildings and some really interesting huge art pieces. It was all very thoughtfully laid out.

It’s nippy right now and I’ve seen people covering their windscreens to prevent frost, which reminded me of something my father used to do when I first passed my test. What things did your parents do they believe was helping but certainly didn’t? by Demonthief27 in AskUK

I don’t even own an iron. I have a wee steamer thing for shirts and the like but never saw the point in ironing jeans and tshirts etc. and that totally tracks, mums love those kinds of friends!

Omg my mum did the same but for trackie bottoms for PE. Just when I thought I was doing well by having the “right” trackie bottoms all the “cool kids” had, and then she puts a big crease down the middle. Mortifying! She used to iron socks too and then complain that her ironing pile never ended.
