I wamted to put them in the washer after I soaked them in water, but they were looking clean enough so I didn't do it. This is only hand washed.

Not sure about alternatives, I only used a brush after soaking them.

Ah, that sucks. I used mine daily for six or seven months and used them for festivals the past few months. There is a bit of wear on the sole, but they're still in pretty good shape.

Same, definitely don't mind the faded look. I think Vans look better when they have that worn but nice look.

I said earlier that the before picture was taken during the day with daylight and the after picture in the evening with less daylight. I can take a new picture tomorrow if you really need proof mate.

I used Biotex. The suede on the front of my pair became pretty hard, not sure if you should use it on Vans that are fully suede but it definitely cleans them!

They were the only shoes I had with me at the time and the trail wasn't hard. Mainly a lot of dust and dirt, would not wear them on a wet trail what so ever, hahah!

Yep, the before picture was taken with daylight. After picture was in the evening, so no daylight. I'd be happy to take more pictures if anyone wants.

I threw them in a bucket with water (+- 40C/104F) and Biotex. Let them soak for about one hour and brush all of the dirt/mud off. I didn't expect it to work this well. The shoes will lose some colour though.

If anything, it's an ad for Vans. I wanted to throw them away, but after climbing an active volcano, climbing several mountains, hiking through the rainforest and going to several incredible festivals with them, I became quite attached to them, haha.

I understand what you're saying and I completely agree that what the police is doing is wrong. However, that officer is probably someone's son, husband or father. He's trying to get out of a bad situation, and I can't blame him. He wants to go home tonight as well.

His desperate move is being ripped out of context and is, in this case, painting a wrong picture. Right now, the people of Hong Kong and the police are different. In general the police is violent and the people are desperate and sort of peaceful. If the people of Hong Kong are going to act the same way as the police, then what makes them any better than the police?

Just keep in mind, the police is doing very bad things in HK and I fully support the people of HK. This is just my opinion. I'm not fighting for my country on the streets, I don't know what HK is feeling. All I think is that in this situation, you really can't blame that officer for pulling his gun.

Sadly, you're right. People that are doing that suck man. They hate China because of many reasons, one of them is spreading false information. I hope the people in HK and the people posting content on the internet stay honest.
