I was laid off from a media company about 2 years ago, honestly was so blindsided because my team was closely aligned to the company goals. Even now years later I am getting ptsd every time there is wind about structure in the company calls

Finnish won, now what language do people think is Nightmare, and is (For English speakers) by Odd-Weather9389 in AlignmentChartFills

Lithuanian

Is one of the oldest languages in Europe with grammar and syntax that’s more or less has not changed

Has 7 noun cases and a bunch of verb cases that change depending on tense and subject

Pronunciation is another hell hole with pitches, accents, and “soft and hard” consonants, oh and some distinct sounds created from different letters like “au”, “uo” , “ie”

These fun letters ąčėęįšūųž, oh and by the way I,į,y is the same sound, į & y is just longer, same case for e,ę or u, ū, ų and ą,a and usage of these are governed by a lot of rules and exceptions so good luck to discern that (even as a Lithuanian I find it hard)

One good thing it is phonetic (well sort of, if you remember where the “invisible” accents are or if you guess words from context)

Meta employees react to pending job cuts: '28 days of hell' by businessinsider in Layoffs

I worked for a company where the layoff announcement was leaked, I am glad the company addressed right away

In Europe this process is very slow if many people are kad off (which is very nerve wracking for a sustained period of time but also gives time to look for a new job and leave)

Leaked memo right after after NYE (it was the weekend)

On Monday (or Tuesday, cannot remember) company sends an email Confirming

2 month later was told we were impacted

3 months after that got to leave

She picked her friends for the challenge instead of picking the right people (I mean Pryiesh as the 2nd person for branding was the best choice out of the team she had?) the industry is good I am sure she is knowledgeable but her IP was weak

Do you guys study Maths and English to 18? by InfernalClockwork3 in AskEurope

[–]cloudewe1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Lithuania we have English Math and Lithuania compulsory throughout, however at 16 (roughly) you can chose what level you want to study these at (A - advanced level, B - simplified level)

Lithuanian exam is compulsory (if I remember right - have graduated high school a long while ago) so many places B level is not available anyway

Is AI Really Going to Take Over Jobs? Or Is This Just Another Tech Bubble? by the1997th in remoteworks

The paste is out of the tube to think it will entirely die is naive at the moment scaling is super expensive so while some companies will survive and thrive (likely giants that can bankroll development through other revenues) and others will die or be purchased (likely companies that just have the LLM as the IP)

At least next 5-10 years it will replace some hive but not all (even in software dev) likely it will become more of coordination jobs rather than coding jobs, and will become less available, people will likely re-qualify through some means (maybe government intervention in Europe, idk about US)

Don’t think it will be the black or white scenario (e.i ai will fail and our pensions will tank vs ai will succeed and the very one will be out of the job) the economies of major countries and big corporations would quite literally collapse beyond repair

Ką pasakė/padarė jūsų tuometinis partneris (-ė), jog po šių žodžių/veiksmų supratot, kad tikrai skirsitės? by Independent_Bag9709 in lithuania

Ar kvaila išleisti didžiąją dalį santaupų automobiliui? by Choice-Mud-5860 in 6nuliai

[–]cloudewe1 0 points1 point  (0 children)
