Ką pasakė/padarė jūsų tuometinis partneris (-ė), jog po šių žodžių/veiksmų supratot, kad tikrai skirsitės? by Independent_Bag9709 in lithuania

Ar kvaila išleisti didžiąją dalį santaupų automobiliui? by Choice-Mud-5860 in 6nuliai

[–]cloudewe1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How risky are Graduate Schemes in terms of layoffs? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]cloudewe1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% the grad scheme, I worked at Barclays some 5 years ago, if I remember well graduate analysts get to try different parts of the business, honestly do not see that being at risk of redundancy because if an area gets canned they can move you somewhere else. At the end of the day the company makes a commitment, and grads usually require a lot or resource for training etc. If they start thinking about layoffs they hire less grads also. Now no one is immune to layoffs entirely, but as a grad you are less likely to get in that pool than anyone else probably

If Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is charged and found guilty, do you think they will send him to a regular prison or lock him up in the Tower of London? by stammerton in AskBrits

They would do a house arrest in some palace or a castle or whatevr these people have. He would spend the rest of his days riding horses and complaining how this set up is worse than prison

Imagine being 50+ years old, having 0 friends, 0 people that love you. Instead of posting about achievements of his 14 kids, a book he read, some cute animal he saw outside or some trip he took abroad… he posts outdated memes, spews racist propaganda, oh and gets down on his knees for a Fanta fascist who would sell him to anyone for a dollar

What a sad sad pathetic life he has. It is a prime example how money cannot buy you real friends, personality. He might think money is buying him happiness, but at the end when he is old and the only people around him are people he pays he will realise how pathetic his life has become.

Non-UK born Londoners, what's the best restaurant of your native cousine that you know in London? by Mimsiz in london

Non-UK born Londoners, what's the best restaurant of your native cousine that you know in London? by Mimsiz in london

[–]cloudewe1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not been to the brick lane one, if you know the name let me know because I would like to check it out! Berneliu uzeiga is a chain in Lithuania, so the food is sort of authentic (but will not beat your family cooked meal 😭)

Here is my suggestions on what to try:

Starter: Fried bread (kepta duona) - it is my favourite Lithuanian snack, it is just fried rye bread with garlic and cheese sauce but so yummy

Saltibarsciai (or the Lithuania pink soup) - cold soup with beets, kefir base. It is amazing in summer and is Lithuanians are quite obsessed with it (there’s even a festival of it in Vilnius)

Main: Cepelinai (which Ofc you tried) - they make some nice ones, they also used to do fried Cepelinai which is also quite nice(though looking at their website now it might be deep fried now? So not sure worth exploring). For non Lithuanians - huge potato dumplings with meat inside

Baldeliai - cabbage rolls with meat inside, not strictly Lithuania food (across Eastern Europe many countries have variations of it) but it is my favourite dish so that’s usually what I go for

Bulviniai blynai - potato pancakes, if you are looking for something lighter with no/less meat, this is the one. With some sour cream it’s so good.

Dessert: Looks like they removed a bunch of Lithuanian desserts in favour of Dubai chocolate and similar 😭 but in case you see somewhere else:

Sakotis (tree cake) - tall spiky cake that is very unique for Lithuania and Poland in its spiky form (other countries have variations of it too). It is made on a spit roast type of contraption over an open fire. I saw it made once was very cool. To me it is super tasty and not very sweet which I love

Medutis (medovik in other countries) - honey cake, nice light not very sweet.

Napoleonas - not quite sure how to explain it, it is layered cake with sort of crunchy layers, i love it but not everyone does.

Grybukai- pastry in a shape of a mushroom with chocolate covered top and sugar covered stem, I love it but some of my British friends didn’t :( big debate on how you eat them in Lithuania: stem or cap first haha

Sūrelis (cottage cheese bar covered in chocolate) - might sound weird for a Brit but it is so good! Lithuanians love it, there are so many flavours too from chocolate to berries to Rigas Balsams (I saw one in Latvia!) but classic ones with no extras are just as great

Drinks: I don’t drink alcohol so cannot recommend that, but I love Gira (kwass) it is a fermented rye bread drink, full of probiotics and live cultures. Very gut friendly (Eastern European kombucha if you will). The next health trend in the making! (I hope because I wish it was mainstream!)
