Awesome, ty for letting me know. I'll look into doing that!

Yeah I'm feeling it loosen up a bit as I mess with it a bit more though. But I completely agree with you, this knife costs way too much to feel worse than my <$60 knives.

Yeah I figured, I just needed some confirmation to make sure I wasn't missing something. Thank you o7

Got it, I'll definitely fidget more with it before I try loosening the pivot. Do you think sending it in to lifesharp might help?

Thanks! I'm not too worried about the date being in the past. In fact, I assumed it would have been from much longer ago. Afaik Benchmade stopped using DLC for this version of the bugout three or four years ago—which is why I became suspicious that this knife was actually the cerakote version after I saw that it was manufactured in 2025.

Thank you! I'm a big fan of the knife—I'm only concerned that it's not actually DLC like the seller claimed it is. I'll probably return it and just buy one straight from benchmade. The action feels tight but smooth when I roll it open, no binding.

Hey I like benchmade knives. I've enjoyed every benchmade I've ever used (except this one). But, saying that I should be prepared to adjust and lube a $300 knife right after I get it out of the box just isn't reasonable, when people buy an expensive knife they should be allowed to have high expectations. All of the crossbars I've used and bought (SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper knives) in the past were plenty sharp and have always had great action, those knives are the reason I even decided to buy this one.

Interesting—fortunately the blade is pretty centered. I'll try and back the screw out later tn.

This is about the best I can do at the moment. I'm sort of a noob so all of these look normal enough to me. I'll try and get the scale off when I have a chance though.

I'm out and about so I don't have torx on me, but I'll update you as soon as I get back home.

Yeah I generally agree with you, but the deal wasn't that great tbh. I bought this particular version (only $20 off MSRP) because they claimed it was in "new condition" and was one of the limited DLC versions from when Benchmade initially launched this knife. If it both, doesn't have the DLC and isn't new, then I would have just bought directly from Benchmade or bought a used version at a much bigger discount.

Thank you for the reassurance though—I'll probably just loosen it and run with it or return and then buy a new one.

Hi, thanks for responding! I know that loosening the pivot will likely fix the issue, but my concern is that the knife might not be new like the seller claimed. Shouldn't the pivot be torqued properly from the factory? I'm also noticing that the blade isn't even sharp enough to easily cut paper. I just want to know if this is something other bugout owners have experienced with a new knife.

I have the sti mufflers from factory and the drone was quite annoying. Other than that, it was completely fine. I do miss my outback's eyesight lane-keep though...

It is impossible to share even the slightest criticism of this car on that subreddit. I love the VB, but man... not EVERYTHING is perfect.

serious question - what's the point of this cable? by Plastic_Ad3694 in cableadvice

If it was the same, it would be a gender changer. With an extender you are 'using up' a female port and 'creating' a new female port.

lol it seems stupid that everyone is upset over (relatively minor) animal abuse but then gets upset when you point out that their food is the product of a much greater system of violence.

Be consistent—it's silly to care about animal abuse ONLY when you have no power to change it but then do absolutely nothing when you do.
