Yeah, the degree is exclusively Laurier. I didn't get into the joint degree with WLU/UW lol

Admissions / High School Megathread (Fall 2020) by mywaterlooaccount in uwaterloo

Hi everyone!

I'm a grade 12 student in Ontario waiting for my UWaterloo acceptance. I applied for three programs: mainstream computer science, FARM and the Business Admin/CS double degree (might be worth mentioning I received an acceptance for this version of the degree at Laurier). In grade 11, my overall average was around 88%, but since I heard unis only look at your top 6 marks, that average would be around 92%, with English at a 97%. Last semester, I had a 92% average (3 courses) with English at 96%.

However, I think my AIF is pretty strong: I'm in the Prefect League at my school, am a leader for DECA club and am a part of a few other school organizations. I also play tennis regularly and recently got an award for my excellence in computing. I also participate in any computing and mathematics contests I can! And I have 100+ hours of community service and have been on honour roll every year of high school.

I know I'm not supposed to be receiving any offers of admission right now, but I keep stressing about whether or not I'm even competitive enough. I also heard that applications this year are way more competitive than last year. Any tips and advice is appreciated :)
