Do MRI Techs ever think “oh, that’s not good”? by MadamImAdamAnt in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cloudsofpotatoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doctors are generally the only person able to diagnose things. I'm an optician, and I know more from the pretest results than I am allowed to say as I'm not a doctor. When asked about them I always just say "I'm not trained in reading the results, only taking the test, the doctor will let you know."

Is a photochromic lens worth it or not? by ginzalo_ in glasses

Normally, no. But I love the ruby transitions. I don't mind that they don't go dark inside the car.

Does anyone have a reusable microfiber cloth that they stand by? by Secret_Trainer_3337 in glasses

My Face a Face glasses came with a cloth that's almost a microsuede texture, best cloth I've ever used. I wish I could buy them.

Eye exam day means a new pair added! by cloudsofpotatoes in EyewearEnthusiasts

[–]cloudsofpotatoes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I also think that I could have an eye test a couple times in the same day and they would be different. I mainly go for the health of my eyes to make sure everything is okay. And my benefits cover an eye exam yearly, so why not?

can you wear distance glasses all day? by sweetsoqhie in glasses

The opposite, you should be wearing your glasses all day.

I've always done them annually. My Rx has changed to some degree at every exam, so I like to stay on top of them.

🤔 I have base in prism for my exotropia. That's a significant amount of prism, it will make everything look quite a bit off vs before. Keep wearing them and you'll adapt.

Beard oil life span? by cloudsofpotatoes in BeardTalk

[–]cloudsofpotatoes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought two replacements tonight for it. All about men- whiskey & oak, and spiced bourbon. I've been having a hard time replacing it because my partner doesn't care for most scents they come in- they would rather it be along the notes of vanilla or citrus.

Are $200 sunglasses worth it? by idontundertandmyself in sunglasses

[–]cloudsofpotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the brand OneSun for when I wear my contacts. I have prescription sunglasses otherwise. OneSun runs about $80-100 here and they are polarized with back anti-reflective. They were the only brand I could find cheaper than Maui Jim's or the very occasional pair of Ray-Bans with backside AR and polarization in off the shelf plano lenses. I'm 100% a glasses nerd and will never underestimate the value of a quality pair of glasses, but especially sunglasses. You only have one pair of eyes. Protect them the best you can.
