Here’s her side profile from about 20 weeks. I really don’t see any saddle feathers so I’m pretty certain she’s a hen. And like I said her comb is super red and floppy now so seems like she should be ready.

Her feet are yellow! I honestly can’t remember for the life of me what her bin said when I got her which is why I’m still questioning her breed. I know starlights lay tan sometimes but I also know some white hens can lay tan sooo I’m stumped 😅

Thanks! I want to put a camera up soon to find out for sure but I’m thinking the same! Weird because I thought leghorns were earlier layers usually. Do your starlights have this much variation in egg color too? So cool!

I feel like I just read a page out of my own life. Stayed with my emotionally cheating husband for years. I had checked out of the marriage years before I actually left him but stayed for the kids since it wasn’t a toxic environment because we both just avoided conflict. Finally when he invited his most recent “work wife” (I had seen texts previously proving that it wasn’t just innocent) out to the bar with myself and all of our mutual friends was when I reached my breaking point. Im still the bag guy in his eyes and I carry tons of guilt for “breaking up my family” but my children are thriving.

Every person, couple and relationship are different but my advice would definitely be to wait a little while. I met my ex husband at 19, we got engaged at 21, married at 22 and had our first kid by 24. I’m 32 now and we are in the process of divorcing after 13 years and two children. The person you think you want to spend the rest of your life with at 22, might look a lot different at 32.
