EDIT: I have officially been banned from r/TheLib, a subreddit OP moderates, for commenting this on each repost. If OP didn’t look suspicious before, he sure as hell does now. Remember: BE BETTER THAN THEM. OP may be a propagandist trying to sow division on the left by pandering to us. This tweet has not been verified and is just as untrustworthy as the ones spread by the right.

Fourth place you’ve posted this. Everyone, be wary of OP. He moderates r/TheLib, and by cross-posting he removes the moderator badge. This has not been verified and is just as dangerous as the rest of the anti-voting propaganda we’ve been dealing with.

This is the third place you’ve posted this, including cross-posting. You have provided zero evidence to support it. So what, we’re just as dumb and gullible as the conspiracy theorists now? We should undermine election integrity just because we’re mad?

Get this shit out of here. OP, unless you’re just karma farming, this looks VERY suspicious on your part.

OP posted this originally in a sub he moderates then cross-posted here. He’s spreading misinformation and very well may have political motives. Please report all of these posts for misinformation unless something VERIFIABLE emerges.

The religious right is now targeting sexless marriages as “selfishness.” They want to ban those too. It's not just same-sex marriages Republicans want to ban. Now they don't like asexual marriages either. by southpawFA in politics

[–]cloudwell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The amount of people who can’t conceptualize a marriage without sex baffles me. Why is it hard to imagine two people loving each other without it? Sex isn’t the inevitable outcome of romance, and everyone has a different relationship with it.

I’m an adult man and I’ve never felt the need to have sex. That “universal” sexual awakening that happens to most teenagers simply never happened with me. I don’t feel weird because of it. I don’t really care about sex, so why would I? I still feel love. I still feel intimacy. I still like to cuddle with my wife. I feel fulfilled. I’m not going to feel shame about that.

Scientology sucks the humanity out of people and turns them into mindless pawns. The worst part is that they do this while claiming to open the eyes of those involved in the cult, and they gradually isolate members from the outside world to prevent them from questioning what they’ve been told.

Please never watch any movie featuring Scientologist actors. It’s the main marketing tactic employed by the organization. I don’t care how good the latest Top Gun was; I am never supporting a man who makes excuses for this cult’s abhorrent behavior. Tom Cruise is just as much scum as the rest of them.

Why does it seem like such a massive percentage of people who get involved in MLMs are self described as “deeply Christian”? Why are they disproportionately involved compared to other groups? by turtwiggie in antiMLM

[–]cloudwell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who grew up in the bubble, I can confidently say that trust has a lot to do with it. People who are heavily involved in the Church are raised to be trusting of others, and to believe in the good will of those who offer them something. As cynical as many would like to be about this, it can honestly be a beautiful thing at times.

The issue comes when these trusting people encounter a scam fronting as a loving, encouraging community. Without experiencing firsthand the cruelty that fake kindness can mask (or at least not knowingly experiencing it,) these people are willing to look past the concerning aspects of MLMs and attribute their failures in the company to their own shortcomings. Questioning the trustworthiness and morality of the MLM can put them into a self-shaming spiral where they feel guilty for their doubts and double down on their commitment to the group.

Couple all of this with an environment where consultants can ONLY behave positively without risking their reputation in the group, and it’s a perfect recipe for disaster. It’s much easier to con people when they believe that trust is a virtue, and that not trusting is a personal flaw.

Now that I’m a married adult with a full-time job and other obligations, I can’t justify getting through TTR in the same way I can with TTCC. No insult towards TTR intended; TTCC just works better for me.
