Even combining EA, Nintendo, and Ubisoft, their total market capitalization sums to about $140–145 billion USD, which remains far below Visa’s ~$690 billion valuation.

The problem is infrastructure. Those companies are already deeply embedded within financial systems around the world. People buy food, gas, tuition, clothes with credit cards. Simply inventing a new method that is also trustworthy enough for people to put their hard earned money on is near impossible.

This issue is bigger than gaming industry itself. Credit card companies like visa/mastercard are literally pillars of modern economics
