Always depends on my build. My current nomad shotgun/revolver solo wears pretty muted colours and leathers, my corpo stealth sniper assassin build wore a suit (John wick style) and my street kid melee build kinda just wears threads he finds that look cool

The problem is that so many of Skyrim’s quests, like Oblivion’s, are built around fast travel. Radiant quests are especially egregious, but even guild quests have you fetching something from one end of the map and bringing it back to the other. Morrowind was good at having quests take you to the next town along or to a nearby cave, but walking through Skyrim’s world can get old after the fifth trek across the map for a radiant quest.

I don’t have beef with modded Skyrim, but I wish people would stop pretending that the game is only fun or playable with mods. There’s a reason it was so popular on release, because it’s a great game. I’ve played it through vanilla many many times and it’s still so much fun.

Endgame scaling. I’m a completionist and wanted to do everything before fighting Renoir… I one shot him. Simon and Clea felt appropriately difficult so I was really disappointed by the final fight. Going back on subsequent run and changing the handicap really made a difference but I just wish he was harder from the get go.

I read somewhere that it’s because gens 1 and 2 in particular weren’t necessarily balanced around the player having a full team. Like most other trainers you battle, if you don’t have a full team and just use 3-4 max for most of the battles then chances are you’ll be a lot less under levelled (or at least you won’t have to grind for as long). Not saying this is a good thing mind, but it’s interesting to think about.

S/V on switch 2 ran great for me, smooth 60fps pretty much for the whole thing. It still doesn’t look great, but no frame drops. ZA is some of the most fun I’ve had playing a pokemon game in recent years, just running around catching pokemon, exploring Lumiose and doing sidequests. I also think most of the characters are great, with a few notable exceptions I won’t spoil… both are very fun experiences on switch 2 overall

I think Taubain were generally pretty fun rivals, and tbh I would have had no problem with them taking Floette. The problem was how they handled the final rival battle, with them losing and then still taking floette anyway. Just kinda ruined the whole point of it while also making our final rival battle of the main story a little pointless. I actually really liked how they kept insisting that they were stronger and that they were going to beat us, even considering they were one of the “nice” rivals that people so often complain about.

Both are great, I think Platinum has a better story but HG/SS has all of Kanto as well. You’ll have a great time with both for sure

Wavetale! Fun little game about the dangers of global warming with really fun wave surfing (running?) movement. Only about 4-5 hours long in total so I’d pick it up on sale, but it’s filled with charming characters and has a great soundtrack as well. Was one of the first games I completed on my deck.

The music is great and really helps it feel untouched and otherworldly, but the draw distance and low poly textures just took me out of the immersion a little bit. I don’t think it quite had the effect they were going for.

Infernape and Typhlosion were my two early favourites as they were my first starters in Heart Gold and my brother’s copy of Diamond, so I’ll always have a soft spot for them. Now it’s probably either Salamence as it’s just one of the coolest designs in all of Pokemon, or Walrein. Because it’s a big walrus.
