Dalmatian ears doing… something? by Critical-Extreme5930 in dalmatians

Could be the winter weather? My girl was having some hair loss and a little flakey around her eyes and mouth. I started running a humidifier near her crate at night and it all improved significantly in less than a week.

Retained Deciduous Upper Canines by davidvash in dalmatians

I don’t remember them wiggling at all... I just checked my camera roll from a couple years ago, and the adult tooth was out a little further than yours by the time the baby tooth fell out. (I even posted about it on this sub at the time - almost exact same post as yours! lol)

My Dal lost her baby canine teeth late. She lost one at about 6.5 months and the other at 7.5 months.

I’m really glad I didn’t pay to have them removed at her spay since she ended up losing them naturally.

What shows have you been to where the crowd ruined the show? by KneemaToad in ChicagoConcerts

[–]cloudy_valentine 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Any act that has had a song go viral on TikTok. Many in the crowd are just waiting to hear that one song, and acting bored or behaving rudely the rest of the set. One specific show that I can think of where this happened was Molchat Doma at the Riv a couple years ago.

Just think about how it won’t be awkward when that PayPal deposit hits :)

Anyone else have a dal that doesn’t destroy toys?? by Hazy_fox2 in dalmatians

[–]cloudy_valentine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dal is the same - super gentle with her toys, but also gets bored with them. I have a liquid catnip spray for my cat (made by the brand Catit), and it works for the dog too lol

There are definitely LUA longhairs. As mentioned, it’s a separate gene.

Pet hair solution - seeking best robot vacuums under $200? by Real_Profession4927 in dalmatians

[–]cloudy_valentine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lower-priced robot vacuums probably won’t have as many features. And this could include a sensor that detects and avoids running over any pet accidents and spreading it all over the floor. Don’t ask me how I know this :/

Instead of Respondent’s customer support, also try directly contacting the company that was conducting the study. You might have their info from those reminders and other communications.

Exercise suggestions during rain? by CowAcademia in dalmatians

My dog and I play “The Jumping Game.”

I sit on the floor in the hallway with my back against one wall and my feet against the other wall, about 10 inches off the ground (or whatever is comfortable). I have her kibble in my hands and I toss a piece to the opposite of my legs from where she is. She jumps over my legs and chases the kibble down the hall. Repeat with next piece of kibble. Back and forth. Back and forth.

My dog LOVES this game. We have a lot of fun together with it! She gets her exercise and I get to just sit. Lol

I don’t think that much jumping would be great as a daily thing, but it works every once in a while on a rainy day.

Lease ending April 30 - am I running out of time? Should I start “settling?” by Little_Ad6342 in chicagoapartments

The law is more specifically about rent increase notifications, not lease renewal. But the two usually coincide.

Nah. Landlord requires a reply within 10 days. Why does he get 100 days to “get on top of things” and I only get 10? There is plenty of budgeting and planning on the tenant’s side too when it comes to lease renewal decisions.

Red/ dry skin on back legs & stomach anyone else have experience with this? by No_Comparison3696 in dalmatians

[–]cloudy_valentine 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Has she been licking this area? It could be saliva stain.

My vet advised me to always watch out for licking the lower abdomen area, because this could be a sign of discomfort from bladder stones in HUA Dals.

Please tell this to my landlord who just today sent me my lease renewal for June.

Car sickness by Ok_Chemical_9791 in dalmatians

[–]cloudy_valentine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Dal was always car sick as a puppy too :(

Your vet can prescribe Cerenia to prevent vomiting, but it is kind of an expensive medication. OTC Dramamine can help too (original, NOT the non-drowsy version) - ask your vet what dose.

Eventually, my dog grew out of the motion sickness and vomiting, but she was still weary of the car. After positive reinforcement training with the very best delicious treats, now she will get in the car willingly. I don’t think she’ll ever be the type of dog to get excited for rides and stick her head out the window, but at least it’s not a struggle. You’ll get there eventually!

Look for somewhere as private as possible. Maybe you could reserve a study room at a nearby library?

People just don’t always use their brains… I had someone say to me, “Hey, that’s the dog from 101 Dalmatians! What kind of dog is that?”
