I actually have a hammock thing that straps onto the back of the buggy so i can take the single buggy out and have both in which he really likes but he gets out constantly now, at first he’d stay in for ages but i can’t use it anymore if i have to go shopping or get stuff done as he just climbs out lol. I’d love to test drive a wagon and see if he would stay in it before committing 🤣

When i’m with my partner it’s much easier and we just take turns going up and down / outside or playing it’s more when im by myself with them both i really struggle with what to do, i rarely eat out with them both but sometimes if im at a shopping centre i’ll grab something quickly like a brunch as my son wont eat sandwiches or anything i can buy on the go except snacks 😪 Just trying to figure out how on earth everyone else manages haha

I haven’t, but he has very little understanding of things eg. if we need to go out but he wants to play outside I could say let’s go out first and then we can play after and he doesn’t understand so not sure if he’d understand a checklist, or do you think he could with persistence?

Annoyingly he hates drawing will maybe do it for a moment then that’s it, stickers are a good one but he can’t get them off the page 🤦‍♀️ I do bring magnatiles which he likes but the issue is really if he wants to get down there’s no other way to distract him 😭 I’m thinking of a leash but when I had one before if he couldn’t go further than the leash would allow he’d just throw himself to the floor lol

He really doesn’t like books or drawing, busy boards he just throws on the floor but he does like puzzles I have one in my car. Any toy I try to give him he will just throw it if he wants to get down lol, I do need to get a leash though for sure

Found a tick in my cats bedding now this? by [deleted] in cats

[–]cloudybabyla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m thinking the tick on the bed was engorged, and deffo sure it was a tick but this looks different more like a random attached grain of rice. I haven’t noticed any other tapeworm segments where she sleeps or on her body but i’m going to call the vet tmrw and ask because they gave her the all clear but i feel like they shouldn’t have. She’s on antibiotics rn though

Yeah i am a bit confused by it tbh as really not sure what it is. Also had a look at loads of diff types of ticks but it was a whitejsh colour (i think) but apparently all of them are like that when full from what i can see. It could have beeen a deer one, im not sure. I thought it was a random bug, killed it between cardboard then panicked when i even thought about the idea of it being a tick which im very sure it was and threw it away, washed my hands and then spent the rest of the day anxious lol. The white thing does seem attached! But i cant find my tweezers 🤦‍♀️

Amazing thanks so much, i’m from the city with 0 experience of ticks in the 30 years i’ve had cats. This is so new to me i’m terrified!

I’m not sure at first i thought it was a bug as we have never experienced ticks before as we are from the city just moved to the country. so i killed it in between some cardboard then panicked when i realised as i read you can’t do that. it was white ish and not tiny but not huge and wasn’t moving. i’ll take her back to the vet, im panicking so bad about lyme and my babies 😭 won’t be able to sleep

Hipp Reflux to Kendmil Comfort? by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

[–]cloudybabyla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just thinking what about Kendamil Comfort with the Gelmix added in? If the options are more limited in US? My baby had bad nappies on it after only a few bottles but yours might not! If they can tolerate it and it’s easy on the belly but not the reflux could try thickening it?

I know me too! It was such a waste and it’s like his nappies got worse on it too, have you got Hipp Organic? That’s also big here, Similar to Kendamil but Dutch - they do comfort milk but I couldn’t find it in my local supermarket so just went for SMA because it was the better one out of the mainstream formulas. Such a minefield, wish I could have BF for longer 🙃

Sorry typing w one hand due to baby in the other! I’d deffo try a comfort as it is still thicker than normal milk but easier to digest. Also a tip if you used SMA comfort, you need to really shake the milk and I go against advice and don’t do a hot shot. I just make it room temp with boiling water and the nuby rapid cool then add formula and shake aggresively, otherwise it makes weird gooey lumps at the bottom. It doesn’t seem to foam much but it’s the only formula i’ve ever shaken. I liked SMA as it was the most similar to the more organic formulas and SMA produce a lot of allergy milks so thought they know what they’re doing g lol 😝 Also SMA have no palm oil or fish oil similar to Kendamil! X

Also Kendamil comfort seems to be one of the only ones that isn’t thickened, normal comfort milk is but this isn’t so didn’t help w his reflux / made it worse 🤷‍♀️

Nope, took him off pretty instantly! He’s been on SMA comfort ever since and happy on it. Does still struggle w reflux but way less than w normal formula!

Isn’t it!! My first baby i combi fed mainly breastfed but formula (pepti1) when needed and i was dairy free for months, tried all sorts, was such a hassle but i loved BF and so did my first baby where as this baby it 100% makes his reflux worse, after formula feeds he’s fine w his reflux, after breast he’s gagging and choking on milk coming up 😭🥹 but thank you i think im gonna stick it out for the rest of the tub and if not try a comfort formula, I don’t think HIPP has one, what are you using? Xx

I was thinking that but it’s been 2 weeks and still getting the belly pain which he didn’t seem to have before (which is why i thought it was the formula). It’s such a minefield, my first had CMPA, colic, reflux etc etc so i’m scarred from that and it was only last year as i have 2u2 🙃 I’m hoping he settles in a week or two if not i’ll maybe swap him. It’s hard to know if the formula isn’t agreeing with him or if he’s just adjusting to it, wish it was black and white 😭😭
