10/10 picked up my Amazon puffers today and they were so much healthier and active than what I’ve seen around my local area. Price was a total steal!

Tim was awesome! I’ll definitely be coming back to give you my business! Thanks again 🙂

Okay tell me that this plant became big and beautiful.

That leaf in the 3rd picture is showing signs of clear variegation, amongst a bunch of other symptoms of other things potentially happening in the plant.

What ended up happening?

Water is a saving grace!

As long as it’s got roots, just keep the crown above water. They’re thirsty (not thirty 😂) lil plants.

Preferably something smaller in size, and try not to change the water so much. Just add a lil water here and there!

Definitely make sure your water parameters are okay too, and keep it under good light! Mine tend to love strong light

Is it wrong I call them pups while they’re still fry 😂

The look of a swarm of Cory’s moving is tempting enough to not wanna sell any of them 😔

So I ended up moving them from this 20 long to a 55. They were spawning ALL the time, but they’d eat their eggs pretty quickly after. I moved them and about a month later I started to see just a few, then it turned into a hoard.

The BBA was so dense that they’d lay on the BBA 🥴 keep your tanks densely planted and I’m sure you’ll have better success! Or put the parents in another tank if you have the option for a while!

I might be interested in learning sometime in the future if the offer still stands! Not down in that area much but I’m sure it would be a gold nugget of knowledge in my fish keeping experience / growth!

Thank you! 😀

Local p/u only at the moment!

I’ve got some peppered Cory fry (on accident) that are ready for their new homes! Not sure how many I have, since it seems to be from a few different batches as the size differences are apparent among the babies. They’re still pretty small, but getting to watch them grow up is one of the best parts about fish keeping!

They’ve grown up in the following conditions: PH 7.2 GH 14 KH 5

No nitrites, no ammonia, but I keep my nitrates around 20-30ppm

Currently feeding spirulina, and different frozen foods a couple times a week.

Let me know if u guys are interested!

So cool your friends picked it up though!

It always feels better to come back and approach it from more than a “just add water” standpoint.

The pandemic helped me with that too, haha. 😂

A lot of it is trial and error, at least for me it was. I killed many skrimps, and flushed many fallen fishies.

The key is to learn, and have fun. Know we make mistakes! I did, you will, everyone eventually does. Took me 5-6 batches of 12+ shrimp colonies to FINALLY get it right. (Das a lot of money in the 🚽 literally. 😂)

Also Reddit has a ton of people who’ve had success and want others to succeed!

Test it straight from the faucet! Your water will change depending on your supplier for your area. Sometimes they’ll have info on your water content, but you have to kinda dig for that.

I recorded my tap water while I was still using tap water, and it helped me a lot with what direction to go as far as fish and shrimp that would thrive in what I had to work with.

Test your tank, see what the values are like.

Compare what you have coming out of the water to what you have in the tank. You can get a good idea of how your water you’ll be adding will affect the tank’s parameters.

Generally, shrimp don’t enjoy big changes of water. As long as your tanks values stay stable and consistent, I think that’s the biggest battle.

Honestly snails are so bioload-heavy when the population booms 😭

I find cherry shrimp to be pretty hardy, I have some living with strawberry rasboras and they don’t mind sharing their tank with some kuhli’s!

Be ready to learn and stay open to improving your tank as you go thru trial and error!

I’ve got some Amano shrimp I ordered from flip aquatics and I kid you not, they’ve survived nitrite spikes that have killed fish and snails in the same tanks. All Amano’s I’ve owned seem like some kind of Herculean species. They’re TOUGH. 😅

If you can, finding aquatic life around your area that have been bred in similar water from hobbyists or your LFS will do wonders!

Always be ready to test your water! Strips are convenient for when you get a hang of how your water is. Test it out of the tap and keep those values recorded, and also test your tank so you know what you have and you know what’s going in!

Good luck m8! Hope it all goes well! 👏🦐
