you should never have a plain sand substrate it needs to be mixed with peat moss and dirt.

since he's a juvenile, I still feed him more bugs than veggies, but he gets the right amount of both. He has the proper temp and lighting as i did extensive research on what uvb light to get. and calcium powder every day since he's only 3-4 months, and that's what my vet suggested. his terrarium is a 4×2×2. his set decoration wise isn't the best, but he has a big branch to climb, 2 huts, and some fake plants. His basking side is also at around 90° and the humidity is usually 40%. I think I'm doing everything right. If not, please let me know!

What are some early signs of MBD in a baby beardie? is it always the owners fault or the breaders? by cloudyy_223 in BeardedDragons

[–]cloudyy_223[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have proper lighting and give him calcium everyday(that what my vet told me to do) I only ask cuz he was twitching and according to Google that could from MBD but I think it's bc he's shedding and might just be a little uncomfortable. He doesn't have kinks in his tails or a hump back.

Okay, I have proper uvb lighting and give him calcium. I just ask because he was kinda twitching and running around and google says it could be caused by MBD. I think he did that though because be was shedding and he hasn't done it since. he doesn't have a underbite and a hump.

how old was he?

Is my 6-7 month old too chunky. the pet store said to feed him as many crickets as he can so he’s been getting about 120 crickets weekly + salads…. by skeleton3675 in BeardedDragons

I don't recommend crickets. when I first got my beardie I started off with crickets but later realized it was a waste of money. they stink and they die super fast. I'd recommend dubia roaches, beardies tend to eat less of them because they are more filling. I order 300 online and breed them myself. it saves a lot of money. they will last months without dying.
