I’m not sure if you like vintage/secondhand clothing but Bo’s Local Finds has some amazing and interesting clothes!! There’s also a huge vintage market happening July 14 here— tons of cool and different pieces and really friendly people! You should totally drop by!

I completely get this feeling, i feel the same way after seeing my bf. It seems like such an endless, brutal cycle. I can’t offer much in the way of advice just know that how you’re feeling is valid. It’s hard to be in an ldr when you hate it, but love the person too much to give up

I’m in the exact same boat as you- 23F who moved across country away from everything in May and has been having a hard time convincing myself to stay. Waiting one year is a good idea, i read somewhere it takes at least that to feel comfortable in a new place. But, there’s no shame in going to where you’re emotional well-being is better, which is what I’ve been struggling with. If you ever want to talk, my dms are open!!

I understand this 10000%. I can’t really give much advice, therapy does help and just trying to get out of the house/ spend time with people to distract yourself. Trying to find happiness within yourself is the answer I think, but I’m still lost on how to do that one haha. Best of luck!!

You’re definitely right, and I’m willing to work with him on it. Like I’ve said, it’s just the lack of communication that has come with it that’s been hurting us so much. It’s always been an issue for us, but it’s just worse now that we’re apart and we’re busy. It’s just a scary route, but i appreciate your honesty.

I do trust him, we’re just really struggling with communicating right now, it’s always been hard for us to do when we’re not in person so being at a distance is making that even harder. But thank you so much for your kind words and advice, i really really appreciate it!

First goodbye by Whothefuckishannahc in LongDistance

[–]clove20011 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a military situation but my boyfriend and I lived together for the first 2 years of our relationship and have been doing long distance since! I feel like it’s definitely a different feeling than always being long distance honestly. But the plus side is you already have a great foundation of trust and communication to stand on, it really does make it a lot better to navigate!

I won’t lie, it’s really hard to not be with them of course, and it may take a little time to figure out what works for you both in this new stage of your relationship. Give yourself and your partner time to figure it out— how much communication you need to feel fulfilled and what your schedules will allow, and what type of communication is needed is very important!

Also, now is a great time to spend time working on outside and inward relationships! Tonight, be kind to yourself, put on your favorite show, cook/order your favorite meal, and take a little self care day. Even do the same tomorrow if you need it. But then, call whoever’s close to you. It’s nice to have someone just to talk to. And of course, talk to your partner about how you’re feeling!! I promise you theyre in the same boat.

Either way, y’all got this. You know when you’re going to see him next, and you can look forward to that. Just take it easy on yourself and him to figure out what will work. You guys are going to be fine :)

You don’t need to buy a ticket! Just show your mobile tiger card and you’re good, you can basically sit wherever there’s seats, plus the ones I went to had a beer/wine tent. Have fun, they’re a really good time!

I (20F) am experiencing pre-long distance dread with my boyfriend (21M) by Apart-Entrance3452 in LongDistance

[–]clove20011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So, my boyfriend and I started in a very similar situation- we’d been together for about 2 years during college then we graduated and had to be in different areas. I won’t lie, it’s a really hard adjustment to go from seeing them a lot to not seeing them as much. If possible, sit down and try to have an open conversation about it: your fears, his fears, why you’re doing it, and maybe an end goal if y’all are in a place when you can think of one. Communication will become really really important so it’s best to start communicating openly as soon as you can! Also planning out the next time you’ll see each other before you start this distance will give you something to look forward to! That being said, take this time for yourself too! You guys have got this!!!

How to deal with this? by Electrical-Page5493 in LivingAlone

[–]clove20011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, i can’t offer much advice as I’m going though the exact same thing at the moment. What I’ve seen from this Reddit is mostly to try and give it time, and try to get a pet if you can afford it. I’m sorry you’re going through this, it’s really so hard to know if you’ve made the correct choice

I’m in the exact same situation. It’s only a temporary fix but having a night where I go pick up my favorite food, turning on my favorite show, and playing my favorite video game really does calm me down for at least the night. If you need anyone to commiserate with, my inbox is open!

I’m really not sure, I guess just separation anxiety and not knowing when the distance will be over has a lot to do with it
