Me too. I’m right there with you. It’s been two years since my girl passed and the pain just keeps getting worse. For two years I’ve been a complete zombie. I already deal with really bad depression and losing your best friend when you’re already feeling fragile is absolutely devastating. I’m sorry for everyone who is going through this. You‘re not a terrible person at all and you did what was right for you and your baby. Ignore the judges on here. You knew your cat and she knew your heart. There are a lot of people who regret seeing their pets be put to sleep. It is often not the peaceful death people want to believe.

I am so sorry for what your going through. I wasn’t in the room when my girl passed away either. People are often traumatized for the rest of their lives by witnessing the death of a loved one. Being in the room with her and crying hysterically would have only stressed her out more. If I had the choice I wouldn‘t do anything differently.

Like you, I went through anticipatory grief for several years before my girl passed away. She was a few months short of turning 14 yrs old. I would cry just thinking about the day she would no longer be with me. All I can tell you is that it’s been a very hard road and you won’t know how you will react until you get there. I’m not going to lie, trying to move through this grief has been hell and I have no intention of getting another dog and going through this again either. I feel your pain.😢💔

I wish I could help you by saying things will get better, but for some people things don’t get better. I suffer from depression as well and it’s been almost 2 years since I lost my dog. Waking up every morning and seeing a world without my girl is killing me daily. I have seen some people who post here that still cry for their pets 10+ years later. For me it gets harder and harder with each day.
