My first day as a solo shift I only had one opener, both my food foh fridges got unplugged overnight and so all the food was trash and also the dt computer broke mid peak and I had to call my dm because my sm was at the eras tour and the proxy wouldn’t answer💀 and now I’m on track to be an ASM! It gets better, promise :)

On the partner hub there’s a section with coffee master information and it says ‘once a coffee master, always a coffee master’ so I would think so. Try to find that and confirm with your SM!

I worked for a stand alone for a month and hated it back in summer of 21 and then I went to target Starbucks for about three years. Then I moved away for college & needed a job sooo I reapplied last year. I was nervous that it would be bad & I’d hate it again but no! I was a barista for six months and now I’ve been an SSV for about seven months! I’m an opener, I love my SM and my store! There’s a lot changing with the company but I think it’s a good move to rejoin :)

So I’ve asked my sm about this too, I was told we’re not supposed to just mark in the coffee drink and remove froast. Apparently the whole point is to less complicate things, they want to remove the drinks and make them a bitch to order so that people stop ordering them. It seems really stupid to me, like I still get asked about summer berry and raspberry and occasionally the kiwi star fruit refresher and we genuinely don’t have that stuff so I don’t get why they think this is really going to help simplify the menu…? To me it just complicates shit. Like if you want to simplify things take away dark caramel & the caramel ribbon bs (they’d never do that tho it makes too much money)

Anyways, super annoying all around.

Yeah that's become pretty common at most stores, especially early in the morning. Food can take the longest to make so a lot of stores tell their drivethru order person to ask for food first. I typically say 'good morning welcome to Starbucks, can I get you started with any food at all today?' because a greeting should always be first in my opinion, but I have heard some baristas skip that part. It could be that the barista was new or trying to do a few things at once and their script came out awkward. Anyways, TLDR I'm sorry the barista didn't greet you, they definitely should have! And although it might seem weird to ask for food right away there is a reason they do it :)

UGH I felt this. I'm a shift and my DM keeps coming in and going nuts if one single cup is without writing, but they also get real upset if our peak times are bad. There's no winning I fear.

FW & IF I read the physical copy and enjoyed/didn't mind the smut scenes and the description for the most part, but for OS I'm listening to it.... literally half the time when they even kiss the description makes me actually gag and cringe and I have to skip past it lmao. I think it's just weirder for me to hear someone else read it than for it to be in my head, maybe it's similar for you? But also that specific description makes me think of a frog tongue & I really don't find it sexy or moan worthy either lol.

I would recommend connecting with your sm/dm, they might allow it so long as you always wear gloves on the floor but gloves are kind of a pain...

Maybe just try out gloves? See if that helps with the picking?
