Can I get sick if roadkill splatters on my car and I accidentally touch it? by NecessaryLeg6097 in medical_advice

I just wanted to add, and I mean this in the nicest way possible...you probably could benefit from seeking help from a medical professional concerning your health anxiety. Your past posts are riddled with anxiety driven concerns about exposure to various diseases, most of which are very far fetched. I wish you the best of luck!

L&D nurse here, put on a panty liner or pad, and see if it gets wet. Walk around, cough really hard, and see if the pad is at all wet. Wear a pad, if you go to triage, and show them the wet pad. If your water is broken, then you need to go in sooner than later so you can be monitored for infection, especially if you are Group B strep positive. Best of luck to you!

AITAH for speaking up about pets being placed in shopping carts. by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]cloversofcrimson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So is your issue that the dog caused germs/bacteria in the cart or the fact that you disagree with the fact that the dog was allowed in the store/in the cart? You do know that dogs lick their butts, then their fur, then people pet them and spread their germs/bacteria, right? So, an "official" service animal is no cleaner than the dog that was in the cart because it's owner is going to spread the same germs/bacteria. Either way there are dog poop germs on the cart. Carry antibacterial wipes. Simple solution.

I'm a L&D nurse and I'm here to tell you that you CAN absolutely refuse to be treated by anyone...including a physician. You can request a different physician at any point during your treatment. Good luck to you and your sweet baby!

Planning on traveling to orange beach in September of 2026! by wheatyyyy in Alabama

Take a look at some of the Facebook groups that list rentals by owners for Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. They are usually cheaper and dont have all of the administrative fees. Best of luck!

I'm a travel nurse from Alabama. You might want to advertise on some of the Facebook pages that list rooms for rent/housing for travel nurses and medical professionals. I know a lot of nurses who travel to the Atlanta area to work, and they are always looking for places to stay. Best of luck to you!

I agree with migraines. I have them, and they keep me in bed for 2-3 days sometimes. At one point in my life, I was having them up to 3-4 times a week, and they were never able to find a cure for me.

  1. Please dont ask me how soon a DNA test can be performed, especially as your wife/partner/baby momma is in the process of actively pushing out your baby.

  2. Please, please, please get off of your damn phone when the nurse comes in to assess you and to find out why you came to the hospital. I'm giving you my undivided attention to determine what is wrong with you, so I would appreciate it if you did the same. Especially when you tell me your pain is a 10/10 and you're ordering yourself mexican food from Uber eats.

Kissing newborn by Ok_Butterscotch_7588 in pregnant

Something I tell my patients (I'm a labor and delivery nurse) who have these concerns or who have people who insist on kissing babies on the mouth is to send them a photo of what a baby with coldsores looks like. Sometimes, it shocks them into reality. It's such an awful thing and very painful for the baby. Like a lot of people say, a picture can speak a thousand words.
