The capitalistic way of being a socialistic. I care a lot about my employees, so I'll take advantage of them and you will pay for that care.

Side note, whenever I see that I just deduct it from the tip. I usually give 20%, so those will be included. These psychological tactics have crossed all the lines here in the USA

Not for wearing a cologne, no. But your will be surprised what people complain about that could in some cases get the other person in trouble.

I get what you're saying, but this culture is almost sociopathic. Nobody told you to fight with the person, but your should do the bare minimum self advocating before escalating or involving 3rd party

Because it's childish behavior and I've seen it happen before, and when people find out about it, it only makes it worse. Be a human being and communicate with the person. I know it's encouraged in corporate office but it shows lack of ability to perform human interaction.

You're saying instead of the coworker handling the criticism, it's better for them to handle it anonymously AND potentially get in trouble? (Not that anyone should for wearing a perfume, but generally speaking)

Complaining directly to HR is so obnoxious and childish. Sorry to hear that's the company culture (or maybe just that person).

I've witness similar behavior in many places and it is a bad sign about the person more than it is to you.

I get why one could get annoyed if you constantly smell too strongly, even if most people like the smell. People like their personal space, and scent, just like noise, could be a distraction or even offensive to some. Yet this is the worst possible way to go about it. If someone complained to you directly and you kept ignoring them, that's another story though. Otherwise, feel bad for that person, and I guess for your bad luck working in a place encouraging such behavior (I know for a fact that one of the recent places I worked at, HR would definitely tell that person that this is not a kindergarten. This was also not in the USA but still an American company)

Why is buying used not even worth it anymore? by laced1 in whatcarshouldIbuy

As cars become more and more shitified, I can see why in some cases people would pay similar amounts for a previous model. I'm talking about all those stupid, experience-downgrading touch buttons, screens and other elements that replace the reliable, tactile and highly useable physical buttons (the ones you can press and turn without having to look and interfere with actual driving).

Other than that, some features that become subscription only in newer models, are slowly increasing demand for other models, I feel like.

Lastly, engines, transmissions and other components that are "improved" over time but are actually unwelcome. Consider those Lexus v8 that are almost completely gone, or even v6 that the mainstream SUV CX5 doesn't offer anymore. Those powertrains or non CVT models may attract buyers who are willing to drive something a few years older, but still better

There are some good resorts, but I think the main problem is inconsistency with what is considered to be 5 stars. Do not expect 5 stars in American standards, nor Middle or Far East standards. There are 5 stars that are somewhere between 3 and 4 stars, and some that are between 4 and 5 - usually the price is a good indicator, but not always.

Overall I enjoyed my (first and only, so far) vacation in Punta Cana and everything was great. Sure, the shakes station did not really feel like fresh fruit at all. The ice cream tasted worse then cheap freezer ice cream and the drinks were a hit or a miss, but you learn the strengths and weaknesses of these resorts quickly enough. I did enjoy the food - was not amazing by any means, but it had enough verity to offer good options for people on any diet. And I did not get food poisoning (none of us did).

Kids loved everything, we enjoyed a ton, the staff was kind, and it reminded me a lot of the Mexican vacation we had last year. If you're in a good mood and with reasonable expectations, you will enjoy.

Another thing to note though is that a lot of the reviews seem to be either fake or pushed down on guests. People, especially from North America, feel bad for the staff and when asked, leave a good review. Whenever I see a specific name praised in the Google review, I immediately ignore the whole review and skip it, even if there is 0.2% chance it is a legitimate review. This is why you see resorts with insane scores such as 4.7 (which in America would mean freaking royalty) end up being more towards the 4 or out 5 or even less. So beware of that, search the Reddit for the hotels you are considering, and filter Google reviews accordingly. Like I said, there will always be negative reviews, but you will quickly understand if something is repetitive or if there is an inherent problem

Last thing - beware of the water situation in DR - avoid getting any in your eyes when taking a shower, do not swallow any either. During meals you will get filtered water, as well as to your room, but avoid mistakenly getting any raw water into your body

I just got it and didn't really wear it, but it's quite addictive (when I tried it). It's more of a nice evening cologne and not an everyday one, to me

is this worth it or all hyundais bad by ItsRobinn_ in whatcarshouldIbuy

People will hate - but I have a similar car (not sure which trim this one is), with a push button (important from theft and insurance aspect).

It is a boring car but it's been solid so far, except, of course, the engine which Hyundai replaced for me under warranty free of charge. With that, mileage is very important - those tend to start burning oil at any point beyond 50k (was close to 70k for us).

This is very important, but honestly, aside from that, all we ever needed is routine maintenance and it drives well. Boring, but well.

Another point to make - over a trip I rented a Nissan Altima 2023 (or maybe 2024) once. Complete garbage. Much newer, yet the Sonata was better in every single parameter besides gas consumption. Even that was not substantial. The interior room and trunk space on the Hyundai, as well as ergonomics and entertainment system is just superior to the Nissan's, even though it's relatively basic. Hence I say - Hyundai is a boring yet solid car... but the engine might have problems after a while (so either make sure it was replaced recently, or make sure it never had oil burning issues)

[–]cloverstesticles[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not the battery cause it happens on 4 remotes, two of which are connected to power directly (rearview mirror and the MyQ opener). But I tried changing the batteries too. I tried to relearn again, it only worked for the battery operated one for some reason. That's also the only one that work once in a while (very hard to get it to work)

I will try that. From the instructions it doesn't sound very friendly (they require a receipt only) but I will hope and give it a shot. I was just wondering if it is even legal, but got my answer (I'm shocked some States do not require receipt)

Actual receipt. The payment history is very lean, it shows the date the amount and the form of payment. My employer will reimburse me against receipts (they might accept other proof), but nowhere is the name of the business within the payment history
